the final industrial type area in RE0 isn't much fun either.
For me it wasn't that bad, if not for the fact that I kept losing myself around and the damn frogs that oneshotted me after some 50mins of not saving after I got the keycard with the forklift.
But I agree that the industrial levels are generally the worst parts of the games. They don't have the charm of the mansion/ruined city/academy/village/castle you explore early on, and since they tend to be lategame stages they generally are just enemy corridors with stupid or frustrating puzzles that generally are reduced to collecting a number of key/discs/whatever.

Guys, quick question about REmake - in some rooms I'm finding already dead zombies, I never killed them because I'm trying to avoid the most and burning those few I kill.
Should I burn those already dead guys too? Do I risk them becoming Crimsons?
There's only one in the game that you can't burn, and it's the one in front of the door of the Armor Key room, in the room with the mirrors. Every other corpse though you can get rid of as far as I know. I like to get rid of the one near the medicine room for example because that's the safe room I tend to revisit the most.

I think I'm gonna restart the game, I've chosen Easy - I'm a pussy I know - but they are practically throwing ammo and health at me is not funny anymore.

Anyone have any suggestions for newer games similar to RE2make, RE3make, or 7 and 8? Looking for something to scratch the modern RE style itch and I'm not finding too much out there. I've played The Evil Within, 2 is great and nearly on par with the best RE games in my opinion.

Wow, been playing on Normal for a couple hours now and it's easier than I thought. I'm back to the mansion now, do you guys think I can at least unlock the Desert Eagle?
Have been playing following a walkthrough tho plus I remembered the first parts

You are referring to the Magnum?

You can find the crests needed to unlock it on any difficulty. You unlock the infinite pistol for beating Normal mode.

Playing horror games on easy mode seems sacrilegious. At least with Silent Hill, it made sense; it made the puzzles more digestible.

no, the Samurai Edge, must finish on Normal in 5 hours or less

Yes, that's the infinite gun. It's not actually a Desert Eagle. It's a standard Baretta, converted into a machine pistol.
Yeap. Just got to the labs. I don't think I'll break the 3 hours, but surely I'm under 5.
However, I'm not enjoying the game very much by speedrunning through it and following a video.
BTW - I was looking through the trophies and there's ''Ink of shame'' if you do a no-save run. This kinda dark humor because in our country that expression is used to refer to the deportation orders for Jews and Slavs during WW2.

@Monika H. are you trolling? You say Easy Mode is too easy, and yet you're following a YouTube walkthrough. No one expects a novice to "speedrun" a game, that's bonkers.

Did you consult a speedrunner for RE0?

Nope, I'm serious. I haven't played the game in years and I'm attempting a speedrun, so far so good. I just got this sudden obsession to get the gun. I'm just playing along with the video on the PC because deep down I'm an autist.
I'm doing all reccomended things - ignoring the graveyard magnum, ignoring the MO disks and so on.

Nope, I played RE0 blind up to a point then followed a guide for the places I was stuck in, it took me two weeks.

@JamesFargo now you can rip me to shreds

I figured out why Village hasn't been touched since I beat it.

I got village day one. I snagged it the moment pre orders went up and even went and managed to get the day off so I could go to a midnight release.

Lady D takes up most of the game and she's boring.

Lady D feels like a downgrade in all levels. She's not as lethal as Mr X and not as funny as Jack. All her dialogue amounts to "let me drink your blood! Or "die man thing!"

Jack Baker while not only intimidating, was hilarious. He'd taunt you, tease you and play with you. In the daughters DLC he has one of the best lines in the franchise.

As Jack is drowning Margarite in the tub, he says this.

"Don't you worry. It's a whole lot worse than it looks. Cleanliness is next to godliness and your mother's pretty fucking close to meeting him right now."

I was wheezing.

It really is bullshit that they left out the clock tower, yes it's a brief area but it still adds a lot as a fun little homage to the Spencer mansion, it would have been the first time we saw a place like that in the RE engine, I would have liked to see that and less of the hospital, which is overlong and a totally generic looking area.
I could almost forgive the lack of a clock tower if...

One: The hospital wasn't so bland. Two: It didn't have the lame-ass siege in it. Three: Big one here, Nemesis wasn't reduced to a less threatening version of Mr. X.

The hospital could of been good. It could of been an area where you come face to face with the aftermath of some real horror, but it's just bland.

Why am I not surprised that there are a ton of IRL mods of it
I'm not into gun porn, but Etsy has 3d printed models of Wesker's and Barry's guns. Pretty tasty.

Commitment, honesty, integrity. These are the core values that create the foundation for Crapcom.

Hot take: Jack suffers from the same problem as Lady D. He's amazing in cutscenes, and tedious in combat. He keeps knocking himself unconscious to end the fight.

See, kids, this is why Pyramid Head doesn't talk.

As usual gamescom was a nothing burger. But what do you expect from Geoff Keighley? The dude will get excited about a shitting simulator. I didn’t expect an actual big RE announcement though like the rest of the Fanbase so it wasn’t a big loss for me.

Any predictions for RE9?

The most obvious thing is we haven't seen that first person style done in a Racoon city type urban environment yet, but that would be too obvious and not real interesting, this is also assuming 9 will still be first person.

I started up RE5.

Man, this game is fucking stupid.

How the hell did we go from the creepily beautiful gothic locales of REmake and RE0 to dingy, dirty African slums? It's the exact polar opposite of what this series should be, that's not keeping it "fresh", that's veering off in such a different direction you question why make it part of the series in the first place.

On top of that the writing feels very hacky, Resident Evil has always been cheesy but this is cheesy in a bad way, Japanese devs trying to imitate western games instead of doing their own thing.

The cherry on top is that the Spencer death scene is even worse than I remembered, my memory had softened that by imagining we see him say something like "Wesker, you traitor!" before being killed, but we never even really see or hear him, he's just already dead on the ground, that is such bullshit, that is the writer taking a dump on this series and I hate it, once again I have to say that that needs to be retconned and we need a proper confrontation with Spencer, I mean since we never get a good look at him anyway how do we even know he's really dead?

But I just want to finally be able to say I finished it, thankfully I've found someone on Steam who's going to help me get through it quickly since they already have a bunch of advanced weapons unlocked and are way more of an expert at it than me, what's funny is their costume of choice for Sheva is this sexy red riding hood outfit, which spruces things up a bit.

But yeah, this is a bad game, it's lacking the charm that even RE4 had, this makes me appreciate RE4 more tbh, thank goodness the series eventually got better.
