Milla is fine
It’s just the way the story is too centered to Alice
But then it’s RE movie anyway
Resident evil has never really been a story powerhouse. I do like when they "try" to be deep, and seriously portray characters who have been fighting zombies for 20 years, but the Milla movies were a lot closer to the recent games then anybody likes to admit. To the point that I think they inspired all the melee animations.

Seriously when was the Hunk neckbreaker move a thing? Im pretty sure Alice did it first.

Does anyone ever read on the original plans for RE 7? The one capcom intended before RE 6 nearly killed the franchise.

Apparently it would become Resident Evil May Cry with Jake being the new lead into the franchise's future. And it would have been, I shit you not, MORE insane than RE 6 SOMEHOW.

OG RE 7 never happened for obvious reason, the series went on a long hiatus until returning with the actual RE 7 and thank fuck for that. RE 6 showed that the franchise needed to stop, take a break and rethink its priorities before they got even more insane.

Part of me almost wants to see how that OG 7 would have been like tho...morbid curiosity.
I would have enjoyed it immensely. I still think Jake has potential to be a GREAT protagonist or mentor type character.

I think them trying to be serious and deep is what keeps fucking them over. Despite what some people think, you really don't need a deeper plot than "evil company accidentally unleashes zombie virus, now survive if you can". Most of the time, simple and a bit ambiguous is best.

Probably, but Hunk did it better.

Jake is a pretty good character, I agree with you there, but he's a character that belongs in a more actiony Resident Evil series, not the series that was spawned by the first 3 games.

"It's a Jill Sandwich now" oh my goooooooood
That and the "funny" scene with "Wesker" made me puke in my mouth. Hollywood hacks keep shoving whedon humor everywhere, fuckers really need to watch something else that is not capeshit disney flicks.

Fuck Paul W.S. Anderson for somehow making 10+ years worth of garbage movies that somehow turned a profit for capcom, now those jap niggas will keep whoring their franchises out to hollywood till the end of times. Next up Mega Man, but Dr. Light is a latinx womxn and Rock uses they/them pronouns.

It would be both, honestly, "The Family" was obviously setup as some sort of The Patriots equivalent of RE or something but they have been rarely referenced post RE6, so tis safe to assume we wont be hearing from them again (unless Capcom finds a way to bring them in a manner more fitting to their current style...then again, Capcom no doubt wants to avoid referencing RE6 as much as possible).
They were just this extremely vague organization meant to setup villains of future sequels in this over the top style, I doubt that Capcom had anything truly planned.
The idea of an Illuminati type group in the Resident Evil universe is not a bad one, it's just that The Family is a dumb name and Simmons was simply a dumb character.

But I wouldn't be surprised if the basic idea gets used again, RE8 seems to hint at some greater history to the Umbrella emblem beyond the Umbrella corp itself, could be a Knight's Templar kind of thing.

Resident evil has never really been a story powerhouse.
I disagree, I think up to RE4 it spun a pretty good yarn, it's 4 and after when things got wonky but 7 and 8 have improved thing but sadly the overall lore is a lot messier and complicated than it was.

Just beat Resident Evil Village to celebrate Halloween.

Gotta say, it wasn't half bad. Though I do think that Capcom seriously needs to start tying up all the loose ends that the 6th game brought up, regardless of how it was received by the fans. Heck, that original pitch for RE7 actually sounds like an awesome game, maybe not as a mainline RE game, but perhaps as a side project.

All the Family or the Organization set up in RE4 needed to do was follow through on Ada's character. As in the events of 6 was her master plan all along instead of trolling Simmons. Quadruple Agent has no idea what's she's doing or why.

On that note, this must be the most unintentionally hilarious scene in RE history

I cannot watch this without thinking of the Naked Gun gag where they keep leaning out to shoot at eachother, then the wide shot shows they're about 2 feet apart.

It's like watching a silver rank Rainbow 6 Siege match where the last two players both have really shitty ping.

Vendetta is quite something

It feels like a Paul W.S. Anderson RE movie but animated and without all the shitty OCs. Theres just so much batshit insane stuff in it and it doesnt take itself dead serious like Infinite Darkness does.

What even was chris's plan here when he dove over the waist high fence with the guy? Think about this insanity, he apparently had to know the glass was going to be strong enough to only crack with the weigh of two adults falling on it.

That or Chris was planning to do a suicide murder with the guy, and failed to break the glass. :story:

"Hey guys, remember when we used to be a dignified icon of horror and suspence?"

BANG BANG PEW PEW PEW!

For Halloween, I tried to replay all the Doraemon x Biohaxard fan games.

and I just discovered, that somehow, the fangame series has spawned more games, spinoffs, porn, and fan novels, fan comics than the real Resident Evil games
