Survivor is canon and honestly isn't as bad as RE6, Umbrella Corps, or ORC. It's flawed but there's enough good concepts in it despite the fact it was a quick budget title.

I've noticed a lot of people in the online RE fandom have started warming up to Survivor after Village came out. The consensus is shifting from Survivor being "Worst RE Ever!" to "Good concept with a flawed execution"

GmanLives outright defended Survivor while others like Boulder Punch and Sphere Hunter acknowledge that it was a mixed bag and wasn't anywhere near as bad as people think.
That's just generic eceleb faggotry about a shitty game now that it's retro enough to be kitsch. This almost literally happens to every other 5th, 6th and early 7th gen game now, especially if they're attached to a popular series. (or otherwise are just weird)
I think we'll see either a remake of Dino Crisis if they can somehow avoid fucking up the RE4 remake or we'll see Code Veronica remade

I doubt they'll do another RE1 remake but I also thought RE4 remake was out of the question too, so who knows?

If they're going to do more remakes, I'd remake Code Veronica with a Survivor remake as a major story DLC for it and then remake the Dino Crisis series. Otherwise, let's move onto RE9.
4's remake and them 'correcting' the game to be all serious and about muh horrur (aka be like 2&3's remakes) actually puts a remake of 5 in the cards. Get rid of the coop and the gameplay would be identical. Anything that could lead to a potential muh racism accusation would get completely sanitized in the style and presentation transition.

CV on the other hand, lol, if they didn't remake CV before 4, then either RE4R got rid of Wesker's appearance or they will treat this as his reintroduction, so CV's only tangible relevance could be gone already. And it's an unattractive proposition, since it is viewed as a sales failure, aka not popular. While RE5 was like the best selling RE game up to that point when you combined all the SKUs. Capcom would be happy to try milk that cow again.

After RE2R came out, one of the directors was asked about remaking 1 again, and he said he thinks it'd be fine to remake it again. My money is on them either remaking 1 to set up the remake of 5, or just immediately jump to remaking 5.

Dino Crisis is not getting a remake anytime soon. Capcom has this weird thing where they gauge interest for a new game by rereleasing an old one, and they've done exactly fuck all with Dino Crisis. REmake 2 got greenlit because of REmake's/0's ports doing well. If the only thing you'll get with DC in the near future is a an emulated rerelease on PSPlus, then any talk of a remake is wishful thinking.

The DmC reboot is getting a shitton of this now. No, it was a shitty game when it came out and it's a shitty game now. We don't have to try and repair the reputation of everything.

The DmC reboot should never had garnered a cult following. At least I can understand DmC 2 getting somewhat of a following, but never the shitty 2013 reboot.

Dead Aim had a literal troon as a villain, as in when they took the virus and became a Tyrant, they also became a woman.
I remember laughing my ass off after seeing that. What do you mean, Takeshi? How the fuck you didn't get the memo? Now we have 2h of rendered cutscenes we can't use you fucking nigger.

BTW: I like RE7. It was my first RE and I played in VR. After that I played RE2Make. RE3 was like OK. Paid full price for that like a stupid nigger I am. REplayed it like two more times. It ain't 2000 and I'm not 10 that I'll play 1,5h game for 100h.

Say what you want about DmC but that game was still fun. Story? They fucked that part up, but what makes its gameplay different from survivor is that’s actually good. Also it’s better than DMC2, which imo is the only bad DMC game.

Seems like RE7 and RE2R brought in a massive influx of a new generation of fans and that's fine, any long running series is going to have to bring in a new generation of fans to stay relevant and I didn't start with the original game either, I started with REmake.

But I feel like everyone should go back and play REmake at least since it's readily available in digital marketplaces, I wouldn't blame anyone for not playing the original RE2 and RE3 as they're old, not readily available and are pretty dated in some respects, but REmake is still readily available and people should try to look past it's idiosyncrasies.

Not necessarily saying this applies to you but I've noticed some fans in the Twittersphere who are really obsessed with RE2R in a way that makes it seem like that's the only one they've played.

Sure @Dom Cruise I have Origins Collection on my shelf waiting for the right moment. I don't think that I will be able to play originals with a straight face. Those are too, well, cringy at moments. Like Rebecca Chambers or Chris Redfield. What a dummies. It's an important part of gaming history, but I'll leave old uncle alone.

I have to correct myself, RE7 wasn't the first one. First one was RE5. Completely forgot about that one for some reason.

Real shame newer generation of players tend to be turned off by old gen games look with out even trying it, so they can be turned off by the controls. :story:

I myself started with Re1 remake on the game cube, and Re3.

I will say if there one thing I unironicly love about the Old re1(Director Cut Version) it has to be.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, the live action series is fucking shit

IGN gave it a 9/10 though, because IGN.

Original RE2 and RE3 are the right level of cheesy, it's the PS1 original RE that has always seemed too cheesy and dated when compared to REmake that I've yet to play it in full, it's the only classic mainline entry I haven't played in full.

But especially in the case of RE3 there's a huge leap in production value, the backgrounds still look great, the CGI cutscenes still look great, the voice acting is mediocre but not bad, it's the one pre-REmake entry I would recommend to anyone because it's the only one that totally tops it's remake.

As for the original RE2, in some ways it's better than the remake, but the remake does a faithful enough job that I wouldn't say playing the original is a requirement, it's only for the most hardcore and curious.

But I would say to call yourself a true blue RE fan you have to at least have played REmake and I would recommend for any new generation of fans they check out the original RE3, but I wouldn't call it a requirement.

And the best part is where the girl mentions the "super rare anime" Deca-Dence but her friend tells her that it's on "Nie-uh" instead of Nyaa.

WHAT?

Only 4 episodes into the new series. What a fucking disaster. Knew it would be bad when I read the leaked script but when I opened my Netflix this morning I couldn't even find it, Netflix is burying it lol

You know it's dodgy when they release the full season immediately now.
