I really don't get how they care so much when most of their money comes from streams anyway. They don't care about the product they're making if they let this get between it. Hell you don't even care about the game you're playing because the most important mechanic is headshots. Why make the video at all?
I'm honestly 90% convinced that it isn't bullshit because a lot of the "true crime" type videos I've seen will censor words like 'rape', 'murder', 'kill' and 'sex' from spoken dialogue and even use asterisks over half of the word when said words appear via text, which is even fucking dumber on YouTube's part because how can one make content about crime without using the words that refer to said crimes?
I mean, whether you're concerned about time or tedium, I think doing it this way saves a lot of it. Having to apply that effect to every single instance of whenever there's a headshot is tedious, tinkering around with motion-tracking in the event that it fucks up is tedious, and it plainly is an effect that looks bad any time it's included.
You gonna pay for it? Because that's why there's no alternative. The site is a gigantic financial drain for Alphabet, who props it up for other reasons. The amount of money you have to burn to run that thing at-scale, while charging users nothing to upload and relying primarily on advertisement for 'revenue,' which never covers the costs of operation -- there's the reason all of the other alternatives suck balls.

I still want the hookman/castle RE, it looks far more interesting than anything that has released since 4(aside from maybe Revelations since I dig the aquatic theme). They did reuse some of the concepts for another Capcom game, "Haunting Ground" that was almost entirely about a woman and her dog running away from various boogeymen around a castle, with the implications of rape/forced childbirth if she was caught. Weird game, somewhat reminiscent of Clock Tower, I wonder how many RE3.5 concepts made it into Haunting Ground or Devil May Cry?
