Haunting Ground was born from the original script of RE4 and a desire to make a Clock Tower 4, Capcom decided to combine the two things and create an all new series, I think the idea was knowing RE was moving in a more action heavy direction, Haunting Ground was meant to be the new thing more focused on pure horror.

But tragically the game was so overshadowed by RE4 and DMC3 that it bombed even though it's amassed a sizable cult following since, even if Capcom doesn't touch the "Spencer castle" scenario it seems like a no brainer to me to reboot Haunting Ground, but there's an issue where the original writer of both said RE4 scenario and Haunting Ground tragically died before HG even released, which could be one reason why it never got a sequel as I believe there's a taboo in Japanese culture about messing with anything from someone who's passed away (for example Colonel Campbell in Metal Gear has never been seen again since 4 because his original Japanese voice actor passed away)

Haunting Ground is actually my favorite Capcom game, topping even REmake (though it's very close), it's cool that it got made, but I've always had an intense fascination with the "Spencer castle" scenario of RE4 and would love for Capcom to return to it.
Turning Haunting Ground into their more traditional horror series and letting Resident Evil go it's own way would be a good compromise. I've yet to play it but it's on the list.

Its one of the games to come out of RE4's long weird development. Devil May Cry is another.
I knew about the DMC thing. I'm just surprised I never heard of the similar connection to Haunting Ground, I suppose because it's more obscure.

Seriously, they should've just remade Code Veronica before they did another rehash of RE4. I get that RE4 was the more successful and well-known one, but Code Veronica would be perfect for a remake.

Eh, if Capcom can somehow pull off a good RE4 remake like they did with RE1 and RE2, I'd love to see them do one for Code Veronica with a Survivor remake done as a story DLC for the CV remake.

Or at the very least, make an actual Resident Evil 3 remake that isn't a glorified DLC. It'd be a license to print money if Capcom decided to take those autistic internet rumors of a "RE3 Nemesis Edition" from last year and make it a reality.

FUCK she looks cute. Can't wait to dive into this.

Graphics wise it's looking pretty good but I'm gonna need to see a lot more gameplay wise.

With something like RE4 which has been ported to damn near every system imaginable, it's gonna take a lot to justify purchasing not only an entirely new console but an entirely fresh take on the game.

And considering how highly regarded the original game is, it's going to be very difficult imo.

Now that the initial excitement has worn off:

If there's no Krauser, I'm not playing it.
