If Code Veronica ever got remade, who knows how Capcom would deal with Alfred Ashford. Would they go through with it like Square-Enix did with Cloud's crossdressing in Final Fantasy VII Remake, or scrub it out like the "sexist" dialogue in the Resident Evil 4 VR (not even that, didn't they just dub some static over that audio?)?

I'm pretty sure the cuts were due to Facebook/Meta.

I'll be honest though, I didn't even notice until the very end when the "overtime" line wasn't there. Guess I just didn't care about the sexual stuff that much and didn't pay enough attention to the radio to notice the static.

Helps too that every mutation Simmons has just keeps getting bigger and more overpowered as it goes.

How does this little man here:

Turn into THIS?

C-Virus people. Not even once.

To be fair, its well known that the RE series fucks with the square cubic law silly but at least you could make the assumptions that all that mass was coming from SOMETHING. Or that at least it took time to grow that big because viruses in this are borderline magic.

But RE 6 feels like it broke the already very stretched suspension of disbelief
Not really. He literally reuses the same "dog" form twice outside of turning into a giant T-rex and a giant moth... Bug thing. And whatever the hell he was when he initially transformed.

I just played Leon's campaign and I can't for the life of me remember that very first transformation at the start of the train section.

It still surprises me he is able to keep control of himself instead of devolving into some mindless beast like nearly everyone else infected by the C-Virus ends up becoming. Even Piers was only able to keep himself in control only for so long until he realised he would become a threat soon enough (and Im sure he didnt want to possibly kill Chris or have force him to shoot him down).
At least with William Birkin's constant over-the-top transformations in RE2, there's an explanation for it. Birkin only mutates after a severe injury. The dude spent most of the Raccoon City outbreak in that first form and pretty much every mutation afterwards was the result of him getting his ass handed to him by Leon and Claire.

Heck, after a certain point Birkin's mutations become a drawback as any vestiges of pre-mutation William Birkin are gone once his later mutations begin and his final form is a massive yet slow and dumb blob.

It was a mixture of the G-Virus being on its limit after so many evolutions one after the other and the fact that the biomass no doubt is extremely fucked from all the bullets, fire and acid that it suffered through.

I see some people saying that Birkin could just keep growing and growing non stop but I kind of disagree, it was clearly running of fumes by that point. The explosion was just the final nail in the coffin.
He was going through depression. It's why he disappeared for 4 years

Man, I wish I could afford to stop doing anything for 4 years and then say "muh depression"

Unpopular take, most of the time, these "depressions" are just creators feeling burned out at most and wanting to take a break but they get "muh mental health" points by saying that its for their mental health.
Right off the bat, in this day and age they wouldn't be able to go with the Steve/Claire love story unless they aged Steve up a bit, and we all just love character redesigns.

I had to look it up and I was surprised to see Steve was underaged, he and Claire seemed to be the same age.

MAN YOU DIDN'T KNOW STEVE WAS 17? Steve could've been wearing a full body suit that covered every inch of skin and it would still be glaringly obvious that he's a kid.

Still, RE has that weird thing going on where the love interests look like siblings.

Look, its been years since I played CV and my mind didnt catch that back then I guess.

Fuck me for not knowing some character's age

RED 9 FOR LYFE! FUCK BLACKTAIL AND PUNISHER BITCHES!

Straight up, for RE4make I hope they keep all the guns and add in a couple more. I just love how they all function and feel. Shit, in general I hope they up the gore for this one. RE2make had some amazing gore effects, and with Las Plagas being far and away more disgusting than regular ol' zombies, the gore here could be amazing.
If the REmake4 cuts back on any of the brutal death scenes I'm not buying it. REmake3 was a travesty with its toned down gore.
I knew about the DMC thing. I'm just surprised I never heard of the similar connection to Haunting Ground, I suppose because it's more obscure.
Ashley and Fiona share similar ballistics. I'm serious, the two of them even share some animations between games.

So the Village DLC got announced, coming October 28th. What we got is
-New post-game chapter where you play as Rose
-Expanded Mercenaries mode with new stages and Chris, Heisenberg and Lady Dimitrescu as playable characters
-Third person mode

Disappointed, ngl.
after hours and hours of dino crisis clones and monster hunter, only a tiny blip about resident evil :(

Not only that, the RE4make footage was just the original trailer a few days ago and Leon walking around and aiming, but not even shooting at Ganados. Also, the laser sight is missing.

Fuck me, that presentation got me down. What a total waste of my time.
Developers think gameplay is walking these days. Show the fucking shooting Jesus Christ.

Rose's chapter will probably end with her finally meeting Ethan face to face :'(

edit: RE4 remake >>> Tlou remake

The 3rd person mode could be neat, if only because I found Ethan’s dismembered hand faintly disconcerting in 1st person. Did they say anything about that carrying over to mercenaries or is it purely for campaign?

They said nothing but the all mercenaries footage was first person so I'm not that optimistic about it having it.

I wanted story dlc focusing on Dimitrescu since she's the breakout character. Ugh. Holding out hope she'll appear in the story at least.
I was hoping for a scenario where Ethan joins forces with Heisenberg. I can completely understand why he didn't in the base game, after all the shit Heisenberg put him through, but it could have made for an interesting story.

Crow sounds aren't important enough to warrant entirely new sfx, but from the little crumbs of content that Capcom has been feeding us, I do worry RE4 will be a RE8 reskin. Especially when they said that fighting enemies would be a similar experience to RE2 and RE3.

Capcom! No more invincible enemies following you around anymore!
