One of the Umbrella goons gives a prolonged speech about how he knows Umbrella is evil; but they take care of him, and that lets him take care of his children, and that's all that matters to him. He can push through all the fucked up stuff they have him do, purely because he loves his family. Literally seconds later, he takes out a photo and shows that his 'children' are just two Pomeranians. It's such a great moment of 'what' that I had to rewind the stream to make sure I didn't misunderstand what was going on.
Between that and the 4chan thing I think this might be the greatest thing Netflix has ever done.

You enjoyed WTRC. is there any piece of RE adaptation you won't suck off?
the sixth paul anderson RE movie was shit. And (animated) netflix RE had a shitty ending.

Otherwise, RE hasnt been known for its steller writing and plot.

When its good I enjoy it, when its bad. I enjoy it (mostly)

In addition to the stupid dialog and story, what I find really off putting is the fact that the Netflix series seems to take place entirely in sterile, white, lab or corporate type locales.

While some Resident Evil games have moments in places like that, that's not the entire or even the main aesthetic, RE's main aesthetic is old, dilapidated environments like the Spencer Mansion, any clean, sterile labs are just to offer a contrast to the grimy and gothic locales of which are the main aesthetic.

It's so remote from anything to do with Resident Evil you question why they bother licensing it other than the obvious name recognition.

Get fucked Netflix

I don’t even know why capcom let them make this, but I’m gonna have a lot of fun pissing on this show. It wasn’t DOA, it was DBA.

It easy to see why they let Netflix make it. Easy Money, and anything NF could produce will make even the worst RE game CapCom has made look great just by existing.

I just saw the first episode.... and I kinda enjoyed it. I need to see it all, but resident evil has always been dumb as as shit, so I did enjoy how earnestly stupid this is. Lance riddick and billie are actually fun to watch. The main black chick jade is an ass, but at least everybody acknowledges she's an asshole.

Some of the lines have been pretty amazing,

"ill make pornhub shred your resume"

Funnest moment was that fat ass umbrella guy stumbling on the railing with menacing music, I dont know if that was intentional.

So far Welcome to Racoon city was better though. That had a lot more laughs and action.
Lance Reddick is too good to be on the show. Just hope the show doesn't ruin his chances for other projects.

4chan is going to have a fun time.

I'm now starting to think these people are secret geniuses. Move over late night and stand-up comedy, here comes Netflix.

I'm really wondering how Capcom got so shacked up with Netflix in the first place, who approached who first?

I know Capcom seems to have long had an interest in streaming given years ago there was a whole series of Dead Rising movies (which I haven't seen) for obscure Sony streaming service Crackle (which I doubt is even still a thing) and going all the way back to the 90s they've licensed out their ips for western media, see the terrible 90s Street Fighter and Darkstalkers cartoons and the terrible (but amusing) 1994 Street Fighter movie.

There's a way to market this Netflix Resident Evil: "In the proud tradition of the USA Network Street Fighter cartoon!"

Capcom is one of my favorite game publishers but almost all screen adaptions of their games are junk with the only clear exception being the 1994 Street Fighter II anime movie.

Honestly a little shocked at the negative reaction. It starts out slow, but the more I watch it the more it picks up as fun dumb television.

He is 100% carrying it on his back. I just hope I get to see him dressed up in weskers outfit for at least one episode.

So I watched episode 2. Not as many meme worthy moments as 1, but it felt like a stronger episode. Jade is less annoying this time and the drama zombie bite elements were fun. I like how the show is flashing back and forth between pre and post Apocalypse events to spice things up.

There's a zombie chained in a bathroom named Barry, but its pretty solid otherwise

My favorite character other then lance has to be the fat ass umbrella guy. His catchphrase is "COOOOL"

Umbrella corps is rated better than this show. (Only counting user scores)

Netflix Resident Evil is lower than all RE games, movies, and shows on Metacritic. Even welcome to raccoon city, operation raccoon city, final chapter, infinite darkness, and more. It’s some of the worst resident evil media we have ever gotten.

This is a fanfic at this point.
A really bad fanfic.
I wouldn't even insult fanfiction like that by comparing it to Netflix RE.

Goddammit, even Uwe Boll could probably make a better Resident Evil adaptation than this or Welcome To Raccoon City. At least with him, it has a decent chance of being so bad it becomes funny.

'modern day cringe young person humor'

Suzi, is that the best you can do? Give up your lukewarm pussyfooting and tear this trash heap and new asshole, like the rest of us! :optimistic:
It'll be a cold day in hell before he actually has anything interesting to say, as usual.

Considering that Suzi is the ultimate RE consoomer, them saying anything remotely negative at all about it is actually quite damning

It's like if MovieBob said something mildly negative about Mario or the MCU. Let that sink in...

It easy to see why they let Netflix make it. Easy Money, and anything NF could produce will make even the worst RE game CapCom has made look great just by existing.

Like I said, Uwe Boll could do better and probably has.

Hell, I think Ed Wood, Harold P. Warren, Tommy Wiseau, Neil Breen, Claudio Fragrasso, and the fucking Cool Cat guy all could've made a better Resident Evil movie than this.

At least the Street Fighter licensing boom in the 90's gave us a cool anime movie, a "So Bad It's Good" live-action movie, and a rather underrated and badass RPG.

The Street Fighter anime project and Darkstalkers anime OVA are good and the CGI Resident Evil movies were at least fairly decent, especially when you consider they all came out during the infamous "Action Era" of the franchise.

It makes me sad that it will get canceled and we will never get to hear him scream "COMPLETE GLOBAL SATURATION!"
With as painfully internet aware as this series seems to be, I feel like it wouldn't be a stretch to hear someone scream "COMPLETE. GLOBAL. LACTATION." instead.
