The only way I can see a multiplayer RE game working is if t was entirely PVP Co-op focused like Left 4 Dead. You would have a group of survivors and a team of players controlling zombies. I don't know how it would work without it being a straight rip off of L4D but this seems like your best bet. Maybe make it a twist on Mercenaries, where you have to complete objectives and get kill chains while some other player spawns in as a super zombie or a boss, make sure to get several other people involved and you let them go to town.

I could see a Resident Evil multiplayer game work if you use the Outbreak game as basis but do it in Co-OP. Heck put in some mechanics where you have to play alone in certain parts and you can only communicate per chat (or to make it extraq psicy, chat is only available if you found radios). But for that they would make Raccoon City more open-world-ish. Like for example experience the outbreak first hand

I completely forgot about Outbreak
Yeah, we already HAD a successful online RE game. Why the need to re-invent the wheel? Just make it more like RE4 to give it a wider appeal and maybe add special infected controlled characters ala L4D and there you go.
Of course, modern day crapcom would ruin it beyond belief with MTX, poz, nostalgia pandering over new content, even shittier writing and characters than before ect. so that's a moot point.

6 has l4d mode and dbd mode. The dbd mode is a lot of fun. But again, the timer.

nah, I think a Division style aesthetic with RE gameplay would be best. like virus outbreak on city but not airborne, but 'merrica doesnt have an appetite for another city disintegration like Raccoon City, so bsaa or whatever the fuck agency is responsible is going to sweep the city block by block

As long as it has different gameplay than Division. It sucks, it's grindy and it would not fit RE at all.

I really hope Rose Winters isn't the protagonist of RE9. What an awful cringe Mary Sue of a character.

Bitch is straight out of Kingdom Hearts.

I didn't mind the alternative universe shit in that. The game's problem was that it played like absolute ass.
The co-op was fine but the multiplayer was not fun to play when you had japanese players in the same server.

I don't remember playing with any japs, and I did play it a lot online back then.

I just recall it felt like playing it with your hands wrapped in cardboard. Everything felt so stiff and ammo always being a problem. Enemies only have a minor annoyance to gunfire.

I thought the HUNK clones were stupid, but a good kinda stupid.

The biggest problem with ORC outside of how jank it is is the fact that if you dive youre invincible. You can just spam the dive action and you can't take damage. You also can't take damage if you get tackled to the ground so melee is discouraged too because the moment when you should be a free kill is all i-frames for some reason.

I am playing OG RE3 Nemesis and damn, early game can be brutal if you don't plan things out.
I am doing my best to remember where all the ammo and gunpowders were and trying to avoid killing the zombies (not easy because the bastards can run) unless necessary.

And I'm being a masochist for fighting Nemesis to get his drops.
If only the Remake was at least half like this...

Monster Hunter mechanics? In my RE series?

I'd say if you're rusty and re-learning things then ignore Nemesis. It'll just make you frustrated and he'll eat up a ton of ammo. Though just remember that you can get two easy wins against him in the Diner (Hide in the kitchen) and the Clocktower (Use the electrical plug).

3make was half like OG RE3. That was all it was. Half a game.

Oh and nu-Jill's shit attitude, it was that too.

Since this is the RE thread i am currently playing Alone in the dark the new nightmare, the puzzles can be a bit tricky and the dectection can be shit with statues and certain doors, but its a good romp if youre a fan of RE. Oh and i like that it explains the reason ammo is scattered around shadow island being because of one of the mortons having to deal with the zombies and monsters that arent made of flesh, so they had to order tons of magnesium bullets and phosphorus shells/ISPOILER]

if you have switch plus or whatever it is you can play the gameboy advanced version of this game and its hilarious how indecipherable the game is that you can't even find where doors are.

Its even worse...it released on the gb color and looks worse than the RE1 port
Yea that one theres like 5 colors on screen at a time and you literally can't tell what youre looking at. Because its a 1:1 port, at least the RE1 gameboy version is kinda its own game.

Game is insanely frustrating and a good example of how companies can look at the successful RE franchise and say, how do we fuck this up? Although to be fair, Capcom itself has managed to fall into this trap too, somehow.

The new Alone in the Dark manages to somehow ape the nuREmakes but still not figure out what kind of game it wants to be so somehow falls short and feels like "we've got resident evil at home". Awful combat and annoying exploration cannot be saved by some cool locations and decent puzzles.
