Jill is 21 years old with full Delta Force training, Chris supposedly had an Air Force career before he could buy beer legally, and Rebecca has diplomas at age 18. Makes sense,
Ages in capcom games dont really exist. Characters just have life states, like sims: child, teen, adult. Once they achieve the next life state, a little cutscene plays and the world just updates their character sheet with their new backstory.

Idk if anyone said it yet, but does RE9 feel more like Rev3? The trailers kind of have that same cheap grindhouse stench to it that Rev 2 did.

Big Boss has always been a fucking crazy person instead of believing that he has some sort of hypno doppelganger he's using to do all the "bad stuff".
They couldn’t even pull the trigger on Venom being bad! My thought was Miller would be the vengeful one, he had Venom's ear, pushing to make Snake’s choices more barbaric. Nope. Kaz just kind of limps around. So what do we get?

Huey. Huey is the sole villain on Mother Base. This is your dark turn? So bogus. Not even the “I'll drink Kojima's bathwater” contingent were hyped about it.

Barry's literally five years older than Chris but they draw him like he’s everyone’s dad.

Hey Barry is everyone's dad! He is the best character in the games, I don't care that he barely exists and his gun makes more appearances then he does, he carried all of Revelations 2 on his back!

Seriously though Revaltions 2 wasted alot of potential but they nailed Barry. By the end I even started to like his foul mouthed daughter.

Jill: Barry, no offense, but why do you look so old?
Barry: Smoking'll do that to ya Jill.
Jill: But.... you don't smoke?
Barry: Nonsense. I smoke niggas in these streets everyday *spins cylinder on his Magnum and flicks it shut*

Meanwhile Chun Li's 60 year old ass hasn't aged a day since SF2.

Haven't they basically frozen the series story to a weird spot in the mid 90's before Street Fighter III?
What was supposed to be a nostalgia trip back to SF1 spiraled into this black hole which ate up a console generation. You end up with these bizarre scenarios where she’s somehow a grown-ass Interpol agent.

If they hadn’t overstuffed the Alpha roster, the timeline might actually line up and Chun would be a 35-year-old auntie. (I haven’t crunched the numbers too hard.)

Or did that change in Street Fighter 6? (or even 5 I guess, I barely played that)
SFV takes place just before SF3 and finally concluded the SF2/Alpha storyline (let THAT sink in) and SF6 is the latest in the timeline and starts the next myth arc, though its story mode is basically just Final Fight Streetwise.

On a similiar note, the RE8 dlc basically means Chris can't come back, right? Rose is at least in her 20s, meabing Chris is pushing 60. He's alive, so any big doomsday plot with him in the area has all tension diffused since we already know he lives. Which is fucking stupid, because they were ALSO setting up his civil war against the BSAA at the same time. Guess we know who wins that one. What a compelling story for a horror franchise.

I’m looking to play Resident Evil 0 in the near future. And I’m not sure if I should play the GameCube version via Dolphin emulator or if I should play the Steam version. I have access to both. Which would be the better version? I know the Steam version has widescreen baked into the game. But you can use widescreen in dolphin.

If you have the patience to set up the emulator, I would say play the vanilla version. I hate all the reskins in the remaster. They put so much makeup and eye reflection on Rebecca, and Billy's eyelids look like they're sealed shut. But if you don't care, play the steam version. It's a well done remaster to the pre rendered backgrounds though since they had all the master files compared to REmake.

I’m not picky at all. A friend gave me RE0 on steam since he got it through a bundle. So I figured I’d ask which version seems to be the preferred one.

Zero isn't as bad as people make it out to be, it's just that by the time it came out, people were sick and tired of tank control survivor horror games to death. This is one of the big reasons why Resident Evil 4 was such a hit, I think RE0 really needed to re-invent the wheel in a similar way to keep the genre going and a shitty two player mode wasn't it. Game would have been a lot better if it was a safer title, ironically enough, letting you select between two characters like the first game did with Jill/Chris and the other being an NPC, and while the entire game couldn't take place onboard a train I feel like we could have had a more unique setting than just the fucking mansion again. RE Remastered was coming out around that time so it was twice as redundant, similarly to RE2/3 taking place in the same fucking city.

I dunno what they could have done to make RE0 more than the last dying breath of the genre before RE2R and RE7 kind of re-invigorated it years later, but I won't join in shitting on it. RE0 could have been a great title, but it wasn't and that's that, it certainly didn't kill the franchise or the genre.

i still cant remember anything about 8 besides big tittied vampire lady, her daughters, the frog monster and some metal city? game was souless trash
I'm calling it. Lady Dimitrescu is the best part of Resident Evil 8. Hell, she's one of the best villains in gaming yet IMHO.

Capcom managed to perfectly balance the vintage with the modern while designing Lady Dimitrescu without compromising any fidelity or femininity from her. If you told me she was modeled from the 1800s, I'd believe you.
