Wasn't it something like Chris killed your wife, but then it turned out it was really an evil clone of your wife and he just didn't want to tell you to make shit dramatic or something?
And said fuck all about it despite having multiple opportunities to do so, when telling the protagonist would have been more in-character for Chris anyway and beyond the set-up it didn't have much effect on the overall plot anyway.

Yeah he really goes full domestic terrorist on your house, knocks your shit over, kills your wife, kidnaps your daughter, and then acts like he’s doing you a favor.

Fuck it, if I can’t continue the Redfield bloodline, Ethan’s baby’s gotta go. :jaceknife:

Finished RE0. So I tried to play the Steam version on my Steamdeck. But I had red and green lines that would not go away no matter what I would do. And the game locked up three times during the first hour. Uninstalled.

Tried the GameCube but the controls of the remaster kind of spoiled me. So I waited until it was on a Switch sale. Game played great on the switch except for the load times. Those suck.

Pretty decent storyline. The most annoying thing about the game is no item box. Like why would Capcom want us to leave our items all over the map. Just a dumb decision.

I give it a 7/10.

Capcom weren't too keen on preserving the vanilla games, which explains a lot.

"A year ago, GOG released the original Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 on its platform. And I mean the original ones. Not the remakes, or the HD remasters, but the games as they were (albeit, with a few technical tweaks).

“I was one of the people that spearheaded this project,” says Marcin Paczynski, GOG’s senior business development manager.

“Capcom were like, ‘we have all of those remakes. It’s already the superior experience to those games.’ They didn’t really see the value in bringing back the vanilla versions. It took a lot of convincing that there is an audience that has a lot of memories about those games, and would love to experience exactly the same game again. Thankfully, we were able to convince them.

Leon is playable for sure. His RE6 outfit is DLC.

You know in theory you could also just install Retroarch with a suitable PS1 emulator and just play the Roms.

It's weird, too. Their Street Fighter and DMC designs are still as pornsick as they've ever been. Laura's Bonita shirt. Alex in general. SF6 has some pretty horny shit and the main storyline is written in such a way that your character is kinda sorta implied to have gotten it on with Juri and straight up had a horny moment with Chun and her legs. That Chun takes active part in, no less.

RE is just scrubbing all sex appeal. Then again I suppose the only one that had some goonerish stuff was 5, with Sheva running around in a Bikini or a bra and a miniskirt and Chris having his chest uncovered for that one Warrior skin. And there's the fairly recent Lady D. Y'know what, I figure if Grace is written kinda anti-heroic she will have her tits out in the Lady D outfit. Maybe it's tied to morality or something.

And really, this is the same company that did full bodyscans of the actors for Resistance. Soon as someone found out how to take away the clothes, they were fully modelled under there. It's not even like the Marvel Rivals body models that have SOME guidelines in case people want to finish them, this was just the whole thing, finished, straight up. That and plenty of hot people in very revealing outfits.

Just for a pointer Grace's mom was written as a turboslut in Outbreak 1, though it really seems like it was a lot of freestyle translations rather than anything. She is kind of a bitch in the more faithful file 2, but generally no mentions of sex. And she did have a couple very fanservicey skins. Though nobody beats Bikini and booty shorts/Bunny outfit Cindy Lennox in that regard.

Anyway, Leon being playable for sure, I mean, it's good to know for sure but I think everyone already knew. I'm more intrigued by the letters from 1998. What are those? Stuff Alyssa had from the other Outbreak survivors? Maybe we're finally paving the way for Outbreak Remake. God knows there's a market niche to be filled by decent online co-op again.

I always called magnet boy "Hipster Magneto" lol. Hopefully 9 is just as good as 8 I absolutely loved the campy stank on that game, it reminded me of 4.

I've been replaying the original RE2, it's still a great game with the sound design and atmosphere being particular highlights. Although this may we be a Mandela Effect thing, but I recall Mr X showing up at random throughout the B Scenario, whereas when I played it was just in cut scenes. Or am I confusing it with the remake and 3?

In the original, Mr. X is basically a mall cop with a fixed route. And once you figure out his little schedule, you can just dump a mag in the direction he’s about to lumber from and that’s that.
