I dig his old man look, but the jacket has got to go. Unlike Chris who they can't decide on what he looks like and dress him like a villain, Leon still has a little bit of blue hidden away there. Who knows if I'll buy it though.

Leons gameplay looks really, REALLY fun, and I like how there's an emphasis on melee with him too; his hatchet and using the chainsaw after how many games of him getting terrorized with one is just amazing.

It seems like Capcom is finally understanding the better parts of RE6's combat system and is reintegrating them in a more sensible way. I doubt we'll be dodge rolling or Max Payne diving again, but seeing Leon be just as athletic in his 50's as he was in the good ol' days is great. Deffo picking this up.

This is 2025 retconned bullshit and the one that goes off in 3make is clearly a fucking nuke, but even still is non canon along with the 2-3 numakes.

Not only that but at the end of Outbreak and Outbreak File #2, you can see that it wasn't just one missile or a few missiles but a fucking shit-ton of them and they appear to be air-launched so probably hypersonics. I still think it's stupid to include RC in any game going forward unless it's a short portion taking place in a massive fucking crater, with or without an observation tower and a big wall around it. The [very cool and gratuitous] scenes in multiple games of buildings being ripped apart indicates there would be nothing left standing. They can't even really go with the "but there was a lot of shit under RC" excuse because most of that shit got detonated as well in the quintessential ending self-destruct sequence plot hook. So in any case, it's a retcon.

Chris cannot compete with this drip.

It's so convoluted what they did in the Outbreaks. I still see it as a nuke since anything beyond that has been jewed up.

I still can't believe thirty years later we're going back to a 80% standing city. So idiotic. Maybe they can make it work.

I think it looks cool but I worry about about how they will balance Grace's part with Leons action. Seems like it could be jarring if the game skips back and forth between the two styles constantly

I like it quite a lot. It's not that puffy peacoat Chris has so it's already better. And yeah, he needs his trademark blue.
Looks way to old to wear that emo haircut
They made him look like shit for 51, when he's obviously the type of dude that takes care of his appearance. He should've been made to have some greys but he's got a leathery face.

Per Steam: The outfits. The DSO outfit has real good tacticool drip. I guess that's his Infinite Darkness look. I never watched that piece of shit beyond a couple videos. Thank god it's relevant outfits for Leon and not the horseshit they did in 2R and 4R. I suppose the RPD will be baked into it.

That's the first thing I thought of. I don't trust Crapcom to not drop the ball on dual scenarios without fucking up one or both of them. Difficult to maintain tone and sense of gameplay flow when (I imagine) you're switching between RE4 style action-kung fu and a mix between the RE4 ashley sections mixed with RE7 weak protagonist, powerful antagonist sections.

Who knows, I want the game to be fun but just not sure they can pull it off in Current Year.

They won't have you play as Rose as a main character unless that game she's in completely goes off the rails in power scaling, Rose is, by far, the strongest B.O.W. to ever live, for her to be struggling against anything would be quite something.
the strongest we ever got to play, canonically, was Wesker's kid Jake, and briefly Chris's partner, Piers after he juiced up, mind you, Jake was significantly overpowered in game, and it was fun, but a full game? it could work, but it would break any illusion of being survival horror.

A offshoot RE game where you play as the various sentient B.O.W's like Sherry, Jake, Rose, one of those mentioned escaped Sentient Nemesis's against massive waves of enemies would be cool, let Sherry get temporary CLaw arm with eyeball or some shit coomplete with a little musical motif of her Daddy's theme when you do it.

Yeah the ending of shadows of rose was practically a Devil May Cry lite boss fight. I was thinking to myself is this Resident Evil or Kingdom Hearts with guns, I'm literally shadow dashing and casting magic spells like I'm Dark Riku. It was fun, but anyone who thinks Resident Evil will be about her just because Capcom likes the savior dad character a lot recently is delulu. After all, why is the dad always the savior if they just wanna do girlboss shit? They clearly are doing more the "it's man's role to protect his family." shit, which is a trope far older than any feminist gobbledeegook. The sacrificial male hero and loving father who braves hell and back to save his daughter/wife is one of the most classical masculine stories. It's a story about chivalry.

Played all the mainline games up to this point and I recently jailbroke my ps2. Is it worth it to play outbreak file 1 and 2 ahead of requiem, all I would need is to get the ISO files which is easy. Also how do those games play, I'm assuming tank controls?

I heard it could actually be Sherry talking to Leon over the radio and not hunnigan. Big if true.

@Beany Man yes you should play them, but beware they are very janky.
Oh that would be great. Hope we get a tease of big man Jakes adventures.

I love the two outfits Leon is wearing in the middle. The jacket one is a very nice updated version of the RE2 outfit with a bit more pouches and stuff to represent him being a more seasoned adventuring type this time around, and the other one is peak action hero with the jacket, webbing rig around the waist, and mag pouches on the hip.
