Sorta, dude was on a cocktail of like three different viruses.
Dudeman Claire wanted to fuck in Rev2 wasn't full off different viruses though, just got hit by Alex wesker in the neck with uroboros and was able to transform into a Uber mensch. Can't remember his name for the life of me, and the game wasn't that great, but it did show that someone who isn't wesker could use it without turning into mindless worm tendrils.

He had the T-Phobos just like everyone there had it in them (giving in to fear made it mutate you) combined with the Oroboros.

everything to do with T-Virus sure liked their Roman shit eh?

its good evil plan, really, make 8 million Ubermensch who can conquer the stars.

I sure hope the finalized product wasnt the goopy tendrils he got at the end though.
That's not Wesker's plan in 5. He wanted to ascend his humanity, in his own words he was trying to achieve godhood and didn't care how many people died to accomplish it. He's just a narcissist who wanted to live forever with super human abilities.

No, he got shot with uroboros. Other shit was t phobos. He betrayed everyone at terrasave to get the uroboros sample, and Alex wesker gave it to him by shooting him in the neck.

That's not Wesker's plan in 5.
But it is his plan. He wanted to wipe out the majority of humanity and leave only those who were genetically compatible with uroboros. The entire third act is him dumping dialogue how he's saving humanity and there's nothing but worthless human beings out there (he's right).

Something about RE9 just has me totally unhyped. I really like RE, Leon is cool, but I think the series js pretty thoroughly out of steam. Then again, I really liked 8, so maybe I am the psycho.

Still holding out a bit of hope we get a decent remake of 5 but I'm not holding my breath. That game is like, almost good.

we really don't know much about the enemies or gameplay so I'm just waiting to see a few more tidbits.

In RE5 the 2nd tendril monster you fight was a failed candidate for Oroboros. Funny enough we never see in RE5 what a successful subject looks like so Wesker's plan looks more or less like a "kill everybody"-type plan (which it more or less is) rather than a "cull the weak, buff the strong"-type plan. I'm not sure if Wesker himself would even survive it. From my POV it just looks like he's controlling it through sheer force of will from being extremely pissed off + being a kitchen sink of viruses.

We got Alex Wesker and Neil Fisher in Revelations 2 as Ouroboros infectees who experienced a successful transformation, but it's a very loose use of "successful" given they both just went insane prior or during the process so it's not really clear if it was a success at all then. Alex was dual-infected with Ouro and Phobos and Fisher was just Ouro, which looks like this:

(If everyone had Phobos in them though then you can argue we've never seen what a successful Ouroboros transformation looks like. The insanity though can be chalked up to Phobos - a major L for your superhuman virus to make you insane on the other side, I guess Albert was the better sibling. Guy didn't even want to be a god but I could be wrong.)

The RE series isn't exactly high art so putting any sort of thought into it might be a waste, but it's still funny to consider the plausible outcome of Wesker succeeding at the end of RE5. A prerequisite of surviving an Ouroboros infection is facing "unspeakable horrors" and "coming out in one piece" i.e. surviving a near-death experience but don't let the fear cripple you i.e. Anime bullshit.
I've put together the list of Terra Save members who are most suited for this round of trials. They all have had experience dealing with bioterror an viruses. Their psych evals came out with flying colors. They face some unspeakable horrors and came out in one piece, indicating a strong resistance to emotional trauma.
Test subjects could only be successful superhumans based on the levels of Norepinephrine hormones in their body, which required the person to be exposed to life-threatening events but not be overcome by fear.
Ouroboros would've basically left all the RE protagonists (including Sherry Birkin lmao) "fine" meaning Wesker would've turned everybody who has it out against him into ubermensch. I'm not even sure if he would even qualify as a candidate. Would his time in CVX count? Was he even truly under any threat during RE1 after the dogs? I would wanna see how angry he'd get in that scenario, it'd make his last moment in 5 look Bob Ross-tier by comparison.
I want D.C. Douglas back.

It looks too much like Devil May Cry to me. Which is funny since Dante is basically alternate reality Leon.

I am bummed by Capcom making every RE on PS5 support VR, aside from the 2 and 3 remakes and VII. Seriously, how hard would it be for them to include it, since all the new RE games and the remakes all run on Capcom's in-house engine that has VR support clearly included.

Wow. This was fucking pathetic. Nothing new shown. Just an overpriced watch and a porsche ad and a reminder the game runs like crap without upscaling. Capcom being an ad whore is nothing new but it's been awhile since it was this egregious. Shows real confidence in your product when you refuse to release a demo for it.
