Seems like we are getting some more rumors for 8

Direct sequel to 7 set in Europe. Allegedly includes classic zombies and werewolf type enemies. Controversially the FPS prospective is here to stay. Honestly though I really enjoyed the First Person perspective of 7 so I am happy with this.

Something has to change if they want to keep the franchise going. There are a lot of spergs who will feel betrayed if developers don't just keep repeating the exact same formula ad-infinitum, which isn't feasible unless it's an EA sports title. Capcom could just keep doing remakes and mine the nostalgia for a long time, and I'm glad they aren't content to do that.

As long as they speed the movement up (7 felt a little sluggish), I'll be fine with this, although I prefer the third person gameplay.

At first I thought the rumor is just fake bullshit but then I thought more about it. Human/wolf enemies fit into the RE universe considering the type of enemies that already exist:

human/insect, human/sea creatures, human/mold, human/tentacle creatures, human/plant...

People that turn into wolf like creatures because of a new virus sound pretty cool tbh. In RE revelations 2 the virus was activated by fear & caused people to mutate. So perhaps light or moon light is going to cause the same reaction.

It would even make sense to call them "werewolves". Remember that the "Zombies" in RE are just called that because of the similarity to fictional stories.

It would be awesome if it's not just wolves but other animals too: bears, boars, lions...

Also if it's in europe I'm kinda getting beast of gevaudan vibes.

Unpopular opinion here, but I also like the idea of werewolf monsters in Resident Evil 8.

Hell, I'd even go the extra mile and have some vampire enemies as well, especially if they are in the role of a boss battle or the main antagonist.

You could have a virus that is similar to the one that Wesker had, where you'd be intelligent and fully human looking but with enhanced abilities, but there would also be drawbacks to the virus as well, like a weakness to sunlight (possibly as an autoimmune response to the virus) or a need to consume blood to bolster the virus (or as a psychological symptom of the virus)

Especially if you pair it alongside classic monsters like zombies.

If the Wii version of RE4 ran at 60fps it would be my favorite version. It made the game easier but if you got into the right spooky mood you could see that if they actually made a real RE game with the wii in mind it would be something special.

You can use the mouse in the Steam version.

I still cant believe Capcom cant see the advantage of remaking or at least porting the Outbreak games in modern consoles and PC with new servers. The game clearly was the tits back in the day when online game was still in its infancy, now that its practically everywhere, a game like this would be a no brainer. Resistance seems okay-ish but I would rather actual plot based multiplayer thats mostly canon (the Outbreak games's canon is admitingly all over the place, but you can assume MOST of it is still canon, especially since on of its survivor characters was mentioned in RE 7)

The mouse controls aren't that good in the PC version though. It doesn't use the reticle system from RE5 and instead aims the laser pointer with some amount of mouse acceleration

I used the mouse on normal and the hardest difficulty. I had zero issues. Mouse controls make the sniper rifle almost pointless.
