This point can't be overstated. Silent Hill fell into the trap of focusing on the monsters, who were uninspired to begin with. The most memorable enemies are human. Eddie was an exceptional character, and even Kaufman had a chance to shine, glassing Alessa with that vial in the original.It adds an interesting dynamic to have someone in a RE game who's simply crazy and not a mutant
The point of the Team Silent games, as I understand them, is that we make our personal Hell and the mortal characters were part of that. It's hard to relate to horror sometimes because everyone feels like an archetype, not a person.
