Why would he? He got what he wanted.I wonder if Null will still sue?
And now that they've retracted their statement any other people like pretend tranny lawyers can't claim they didn't know it was false if they choose not to issue a retraction and decide they want to go to court. Why would he? He got what he wanted.
There is something to be said for trying to make an example of bad actors who blatantly lie, and even if Epik has formally retracted their statement, damaging falsehoods travel faster than truth, particularly concerning allegations of something like child porn. I am sure that Epik's accusations are going to be repeated by online "journalists" as well as the media over and over despite Epik's retraction. Why would he? He got what he wanted.
It'll depend on what was going on behind the scenes. While issuing a retraction will help their side if null continues to pursue this legally, it doesn't insulate them entirely. If null threatened and threatened and they kept doubling down and antagonizing him by publicly shitting on his reputation as a law abiding tech entity, they can't dodge all responsibility with a last minute retraction. The damage is already done. Why would he? He got what he wanted.
I'll repeat myself from the other thread and then close this one. We reached an out of court agreement, which resolves the litigation issue. My requests were that Epik would issue a retraction in public, provide a certified copy of such retraction for other litigation purposes, and then assist me in contacting NICs to get a domain we lost to an intermediary RIR returned to me.I wonder if Null will still sue?
I think it would be smarter to save the money for the other law suits but man it would be funny
Also you can't really renege on an out of court settlement. It's a contract. Why would he? He got what he wanted.
I feel like people don’t get this, even lawyers at times. Also you can't really renege on an out of court settlement. It's a contract.
There is at least one other bad actor who Null could go after that has been spreading the Epik lie. Rather then spend money on pursuing something that's already been resolved, I'd rather see the Litigation Fund being put towards completely burying this lying sack of shit. There is something to be said for trying to make an example of bad actors who blatantly lie, and even if Epik has formally retracted their statement, damaging falsehoods travel faster than truth, particularly concerning allegations of something like child porn. do they? i thought epik was mainly known for being that one provider that serves all the rightoids who have been deplatformed and shown the door by more reputable providers. i can't imagine that their word holds much weight with the press.Especially given the party in question has considerable clout within the journscum classes.
I was referring to a certain Harvard academic who enthusiastically spread Epik's lies via Twitter and is yet to show any contrition.do they? i thought epik was mainly known for being that one provider that serves all the rightoids who have been deplatformed and shown the door by more reputable providers. i can't imagine that their word holds much weight with the press.
oh okI was referring to a certain Harvard academic who enthusiastically spread Epik's lies via Twitter and are yet to show any contrition.
I am blackpilled enough that I think we are ultimately doomed, but I hope we go down shooting. And I can safely say that there is very likely going to be others that want to get funny ideas, so a healthy war chest so to speak is the absolute best option for future litigation and kind of act as a deterrent in a way.
This battle is won, but the war is far from over, sadly. The wall have been fortified, so now its time to beef up the cannons, too.
