An act of sadomasochismthe Saturn version
That I 100%-ed waiting for Sega to release a good Sonic game for the Saturn. (Still waiting.)An act of sadomasochism
I've played A LOT of Mario World. While I notice the compressed sound while playing the GBA version, I'm convinced most people wouldn't notice the difference in the colors if they weren't put side by side.A lot of GBA games have color correction hacks, and even if FR/LG doesn’t (the closest I could find was this), it’s built into a lot of emulators as an option.
It’s not that the GBA couldn’t handle different colors, but early games used brighter palettes to increase visibility on a no-backlight original GBA. It’s pretty interesting seeing the NES/SNES ports modded to use their original colors.

You'd notice but anybody playing for the first time wouldn't be bothered, looks adequate. The real problem is screen crunch, it makes action games ported unplayable imo.I've played A LOT of Mario World. If we were still talking about the Game Gear, then sure. The real problem is screen crunch, it makes action games ported unplayable imo.
There's workarounds in certain games but it's not perfect. If we were still talking about the Game Gear, then sure.
But you can just press "L" to pan the camera. I used it to see what was directly in front of me and never had an issue with these games playing them in high school.
Vertically, sure. But horizontally, GBA is almost the same as SNES.You'd notice but anybody playing for the first time wouldn't be bothered, looks adequate. The real problem is screen crunch, it makes action games ported unplayable imo.
All I know is Mega Man & Bass probably got its reputation for difficulty from the GBA version because it's not that hard on SNES, and yet I suck at it on GBA.Vertically, sure. But horizontally, GBA is almost the same as SNES.

Usually the rights get bought up even as studios fail. In this case Koei published it so probably they retain all rights.Though the game is still on vimms lair, and multiple emulation sites, can't really copyright claim the game if the studios don't exist anymore.
They should fuckin remaster it then, it was a really good gameUsually the rights get bought up even as studios fail. In this case Koei published it so probably they retain all rights.
If it came out when you were 10, you're probably too young to realize most people played the original with a coaxial rf hookup on a tube TV with fucked up colors anyway. The Super Mario World port for GBA was released when I was 10, and I didn't notice how fucked the colors were but it was on an original, non-backlit GBA. You can make a case on the diminished mental capacity of Nintendo fans and normies in general, but I don't think you could extrapolate that to "most people wouldn't notice".
Oh, I played Super Mario World on Snes9x (with relatively crispness)...and it was at the dental office, too (on real CRTs with real burn-in)...just those were a few years behind and when you're a kid "three years ago" was a world away.If it came out when you were 10, you're probably too young to realize most people played the original with a coaxial rf hookup on a tube TV with fucked up colors anyway.
At worst it looked way better than that.
We had a Sonyboy in the living room and I had grandma's old TV in my bedroom. I never felt like I needed to see how much better it would look in the living room. More commonly bedrooms would have 13inch TVs which often couldn't resolve as much, at 240p it didn't matter much maybe for the latest episode of whatever TV show.in that era, whether the SNES/Genesis was hooked up to an older TV in the den or the finest in 1990s models in the family room) and the average truth was probably closer to the middle.
Reading it in your head yes. Talking on a playground no.no one called it a "Pee Ess Ex"
Compare the chroma resolution in the "DUCK HUNT" letters on the wood panel TV. My model is very close to what we observe there. Enjoy your haterade. At worst it looked way better than that.
