FYI, Yoshitaka Nishimura is also knows as "DJ YOSHITAKA" and goes under a bunch of other different aliases. He's mostly known in the BMIIDX/Pop'n games, but in DDR, outside of Hottest Party, he debuted with this song in SuperNova 2

According to the site, drafting starts in August, Regular stages begin in November and Semifinals are next year in March. One of the regular stage dates happen to be on Christmas Eve and the DDR Semifinals happen on a national holiday.

I'm pretty sure that's because there was a minigame cutscene where there's shots of restrooms lining up; showing first the men's room, then the lady's toilet, then a third room with a music note showing MC's gender ambiguity. Basing it off a youtube video I've watched months ago
it was a big turn off for me (unless there's a way that I could pirate it)

I guess this was known among the Bemani crowd for a while, but Naira "Jenn" Whittaker (murdered/helped murder a trans roommate a few years back and shot herself when the cops came around) was active in the retro and rhythm game communities under the handle jenna573. I know they were active on bemaniso but my account there is long gone. I know the site has come up here before so someone might have access to more.

I can only find a reddit account under that name these days; not much in their reddit history connecting to the bemani scene but the last post dates work with the timeline of her death, and a couple of posts that feel on point based on how she ended up.
 
Some osufag decided to bring their third party ongeki and chunithm controller (aka obviously meant for playing on illegal pirated private data) to Gamescom (gaming convention in germany) for the fucking director at sega on said games to sign. Does not understand why the fuck this is a dumbass idea.

It's a little annoying that they have the best arcade locator, because they have the most obnoxiously autistic URL. They could have gone with something like rhythmgames.dance, but they didn't. Even xepher.dance would be a big upgrade.

So anyway:
  • Ragna Rock is alright, literally Rock Band drums
  • Trombone Champ has a great spirit but it rides entirely on its gimmicks and doesn't really have legs
  • Pump it Up Rise isn't great
  • I guess Pump it Up 2025 isn't happening
  • I'm looking forward to Rhythm Heaven Groove but its been nearly ten years since Megamix. Like, come on Nintendo, why are these games so infrequent
  • Tetote Connect is the most embarrassing game you can play at Round 1
