Extremist politics attract weirdos and outcasts because normal people don't want to be associated with them. That's why you see fat trannys in a Hammer in Sickle shirt or Richard Spencer posing with trannys at an anime convention. When you are a loser/fuckup you have less to lose by joining a far left or far right political group. Think about the last time you saw a person married happily with kids waving around a Communist flag, for me that would be never. Someone who contributes to society and is mentally stable isn't going to do that.

By the by, Richard has argued that actions, ideas, morality, philosophy and culture all stem from genetics, so by his logic, he was always genetically predisposed destined to advocate for child porn. For me personally it's less about the ideology itself since I'm willing to listen and talk to anyone, but rather the kind of people that "represent" what is mainly designated as alt-right.
