Milo explained it himself in a screencap made a couple posts back. I don't know what gave you the impression they were ever friends or allies. "The Right" is simply not that monolithic.

Milo is, and always was, an attention whore. For him, the bomb throwing is an end in itself, and not a means to an end. He's also openly gay and hasn't really expoused white nationalist beliefs. He's a smartly dressed troll.

Spencer is autistic enough to actually believe the shit that comes out of his mouth. He also might be a fag, but regardless of whether he is or isn't, he has to maintain the appearance that he's not. That includes shitting all over Milo for being a fag.

I think the post-Charlottesville pressure broke them, fractured the movement, caused a lot of people who were on the fence about White Nationalism/White Identity to just stick to vanilla MAGA tier stuff. This left movement leaders nothing better to do than fight over the rubble of the remains.

I think Pre-Charlottesville the alt-right's strength was its ability to Trojan horse its self as an Pro-American moment. That allowed it to deflect criticisms of White Identity by saying as long as you believe in American Ideals you can join but it is not our fault Black/colored people don't want to join. I think if they where allowed to keep up this up it would have supplanted MAGA-tards. Once Charlottesville happened the loudest members there where the 1488, Gas the kikes ,Niggas go back type. That complete soured the movement because most Americans don't hold their racial identity as a high priority only their personal.Once the mask fell off it was doomed to a slow death.
