I find Fire's response to this odd. This happened to someone who is part of his school community. As a teacher, and as someone who wants to be a leader, I would expect his response to be far more personal. I'd expect him to be thinking about what he can do for the grieving family, the grieving community, and for the other students who are touched by this. And yet there's not so much as an "I will say a prayer for this student and their family".
I should slap myself for completely missing that element of this particular post at the time, but you're right. This is also a trend with Bill, over and over again he's met with these situations that would evoke human emotion and empathy and it just never happens with him and it's so obvious.
I guess I always thought a sociopath would be smarter, but then again Bill's probably on the extremely low-end of the spectrum lol.
