It's the result of letting Boomer leftists have such a long-lasting grip on American culture. They resent their parents for not approving of their bullshit, and have spent their lives imprinting that resentment on anyone and anything they could get their hands on, which was a lot.

Most of the people whining about the 50s only do so because some libshit comedian trained them on how to view their own country's history.
