RIP Rutger Hauer - Like tears in the rain

Fucking RIP. One of the legends, lost now, like tears in rain. Props to the actor who gave me an existential breakdown in the middle of a schlocky movie about a homeless man with a shotgun. Its almost a better scene than the one from Blade Runner.

I don't care what anymore says he was phenomenal in every role he was ever in. Even though the really low budget stuff one can mention. He elevated the material in every role/movie he was in. He brought out the best in everyone perfect example is C. Thomas Howell. He added a richness that intangible X factor than many wish they had. Rest in Peace. Feel like another piece of my childhood/teenhood is totally gone but I won't forget him.

I'm not big on cinema, but Roy Batty's final speech moved me, and even now I've got the chills as I've rewatched it. Definitely one of the greats.

Roy Batty is one of the best villains of 80s cinema due to Hauer's portrayal of the character. He seemed like a genuinely humble and intelligent guy. He was such a great talent who enjoyed acting, even if the film was bad. RIP.

Damn. He was great as an actor and he was the shining star in many films. He was also Xehanort in Kingdom Hearts 3 as a replacement for Leonard Nimoy. Rest in peace, you magnificent man.

unexpected passing :(

Blind fury is a great film forgotten about in his works. Good mention OP.

Tears in the rain ... we all are saddened by his passing but we all will just keep going. I like to think, how cliche and fitting it is. While he had many great roles, he to society will aways be Roy. A fitting honor.

I don't usually feel this sad about actors but Rutger Hauer was special.

I've always maintained Ladyhawke is severely underated as a movie.

Ladyhawke was a great movie but it suffered from an absolutely terrible soundtrack. I don't mean that in passing: there's times when it blares over the action and distracts from how good a performance Hauer put on. Still, it's good to watch. I think I have a copy on Laserdisk down in the basement. Wonder if my player still works? Think I'll find out tonight, maybe do a double-bill with the Criterion Blade Runner.

Feels bad, he's been my favourite actor since I was a teen, I don't think there's any movies he's been in which are terrible - he even made the cheesy ones good. RIP. :(

Rutger died the same year as Roy Batty.
