Only if their estate gives them the permission to do so.

If I recall correctly, Carrie Fisher had a pre-arranged agreement with Disney to use her likeness in CGI since she was in extremely poor health while filming the sequels anyway and probably knew she was going to die before the Nu-Wars trilogy would be complete or that it was at least a very likely possibility.

Peter Cushing's estate probably just took the paycheck after Disney showed up with a dump truck full of money and that was it.

Harrison Ford strikes me as the kind of person who would never let Disney use his deepfaked likeness in a million years for Star Wars and probably make sure to explicitly prohibit it in his will.

Deepfakes and holograms are something that celebrities are going to have to start seriously thinking about in regards to their estate and how their likeness will be used. Imagine not being specific enough about it and some greedy heirs use your CGI likeness to sell car insurance or something like that.

I don't think Harrison Ford would go for it either.

But this is the future and I think we will be seeing a lot of this sort of thing.

YES YES YES YES YES! Covid has done so much to clear out death row - although Little plead out to avoid the death penalty and was at LAC last I remember.

I'm the TINIEST bit disappointed because there are still so many unnamed victims, but that fuckhead wasn't ever going to tell anyway.

Very good article, thanks for posting it.

It always breaks my heart for the families who are left with questions, no body, no closure. Their killers not having that last shred of decency to tell them where their loved ones were dumped. I suppose it's the last bit of control they have after being caught, locked up and being told when they can take a piss for so long.

People like him make me hope that there's some kind of afterlife, and that all his victims are there waiting for him. Nothing overly dramatic...something as mundane as the one Will Self describes in How The Dead Live...the shades following him around arguing and picking at him, never giving him a seconds peace. Like the most boring frustrating day you've ever lived, repeated constantly, with added fighting women who you can't touch or escape. With PMT.

I love Will Self. And I hope Sam Little is subjected to that fate, with possibly hundreds of unnamed women following him around, needling him, for eternity.

Little was a textbook sociopath and if there is a hell I confess I also hope the forgotten "less than dead" women he murdered for sexual kicks are stoking the fires in which he's burning.
