RIP Thread

What is it with the kids of celebrities and suicide lately?
A lot of these kids don’t really have a direction in life. They grow up rich and unchallenged and it’s the boredom that kills them. Some via drugs, some via suicide, some via car accidents or whatever.

I believe it was Nietzsche who opined that “when there is peace, the warlike man fights against himself”. So it is with these listless, aimless, rootless celebrity children. Without obstacles they’ve overcome, they have no achievements in which to take pride. Their lives are a hollow mockery- reward without effort, success without work, and nothing to fill their days if they do not map out a future aimed at success.

Can you imagine being born with millions on tap and not saying to yourself “lack of money is the biggest obstacle to people’s dreams- I am going to dedicate my life to X” where X could be studying history, or medicine, or restoring classic aircraft, or building furniture, or starting a charity… the closest most of them get to doing something creative is going into ’fashion design’, surely the epitome of empty, pointless consumption dressed up in the garb of ‘creativity’.

It’s also why many of them are attracted to certain political views, as these are fashionable, and allow them to vicariously experience the ’struggles’ of the poor people. While at the same time these ‘poor’ people are often well-paid academics and the scions of well-off, middle-class families themselves. The layers of delusion run deep.

I feel zero sympathy for these rich kids that self-annihilate. Their lucky draw in life means they can be anything they want, and they choose to be dead. So be it.

EDIT: add Michael Madsen’s 26 year old son, Hudson, to the list. An hour and a quarter after I posted the above rant, too.

It happened again. That's crazy.

If I grew up rich I could have done so much more. But these kids seem to not get it at all. You have all the resources and none of the drive to make them work for you. Apparently Hanna Price's parents were trying to get her away from the boyfriend and into treatment. But you can't help addicts that won't help themselves.

I hate using this word anymore, but fuck these privileged little shits. Absolutely zero sympathy from me they took the coward’s way out. Born into a life most people can only dream of, a ton of resources and time to learn and pursue their heart’s desire. Doorways in life magically open for them that would be barred to the rest of us filthy serfs and it’s still not good enough for the little princesses. Oh yeah, they’re so tortured and abused, gimme a fucking break

Hope hell is hot enough for you mewling little pansies. Regret it yet?

I'd off myself too if I got contractually obligated to fuck Mrs. Piggy's stunt double

Oh

RIP to one of WWE’s jobbers of the 90s that had an unfortunate surname

Regina King's 26 year old son Ian has committed suicide on his birthday: https://www.tmz.com/2022/01/22/regina-kings-son-dead-26-suicide/

Very sad to end your life at such a young age. What is it with the kids of celebrities and suicide lately? Chris Daughtry's step-daughter Hannah (25), Sinead O'Connor's son Shane (17) and now this. Although Hannah Price's death was ruled a suicide that boyfriend needs some serious looking into. Makes me wonder if something will come to light years from now.

I hope we don't see any more of these any time soon.
Not gonna lie whenever I see that someone has committed suicide on another "special day" (birthdays, anniversaries, etc) it honestly makes it feel even more like a planned, selfish "fuck you."

I know not all acts of suicide are inherently selfish but shit like this is just...something else, you know?

Oh

Good grief
Turns out the voice actor for Charlie Brown had bipolar disorder and may have committed suicide

FOX 5’s Phil Blauer was a close friend of the voice actor over the past 25 years. He says he had closely followed the voice actor’s ups and downs, from interviewing him in jail because of criminal threats he made against several people, including San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore, to speaking with him when he was in rehab battling an addiction to drugs and alcohol.
The last time FOX 5 interviewed him was in 2019, when he just got out of prison, speaking about his lifelong battle with mental illness.

“I would recommend to anybody that has bipolar disorder to take it seriously because your life can turn around in the span of a month, like it did to me,” Robbins said. “I came out of prison and I’m a better person for it. I’m much more humble and grateful and thankful that I lived through the experience.”

Robbins’ loved ones are asking for privacy at this difficult time. They say they will hold a memorial service for him at a future date.
