R.I.P Alan Young.

Probably best known to Kiwis as the voice of Scrooge McDuck from the iconic Ducktails Disney cartoon. He reprised the role only recently for the remake of the classic NES Ducktails game.

Died of natural causes at the ripe old age of 96.
96 years old?

Sounds like Alan Young wasn't all that young.:coster:

Morley Safer died.

If you're too young to remember when journalism meant something, you might not remember him.

But if you are, you might remember a time when politicians, even the President himself, actually ran in terror from journalists.

That day is long gone.

But RIP you magnificent motherfucker.

...It's Burt Kwouk, dude. Either way RIP Kato.

Also I'm exactly three weeks late but RIP Isao Tomita, the Japanese electronic artist, who, in 1974 released the grammy-nominated album Snowflakes are Dancing, an album consisting of Debussy pieces played on synthesizers. I get a lot of flak for my rather leftfield music taste but his loss is... really sad, to say the least.

His version of Holst's The Planets is among my favorite pieces of music. I'm actually sad about this one.:(

I would like to be remembered as a man who won the heavyweight title three times, who was humorous, and who treated everyone right. As a man who never looked down on those who looked up to him, and who helped as many people as he could. As a man who stood up for his beliefs no matter what. As a man who tried to unite all humankind through faith and love. And if all that’s too much, then I guess I’d settle for being remembered only as a great boxer who became a leader and a champion of his people. And I wouldn’t even mind if folks forgot how pretty I was.

Attrell Cordes, aka Prince Be of P.M. Dawn, passed away earlier today. He was only 46.

Poor guy was very ill for a long time though. He had a stroke in the early 00's which paralyzed one side of his body, and I believe he lost one leg to diabetes at some point not long thereafter. Kidney failure is what eventually did him in, though. Really sad, just the whole lot of it. He was a very talented musician whose career and life were cut way too short. :(

I loved PM Dawn so this is really sad to hear.

Damnit, I really, REALLY liked him...

EDIT: Looks like it MAY have been his fault as he MAY have ignored a recall for the vehicle he was driving that was due to a fault that caused the vehicle to roll away when the driver thinks it's in 'park'. Still tragic, but now stupid too.

EDIT 2: Yeah he ignored the recall and lost his life because of it. Chekov gets a Darwin award.

Ron Lester died a couple days ago. He was the fat guy in the movie Varsity Blues, and was also in Not Another Teen Movie where he played essentially the same character, just with a slightly different name.
