It wasn't cancer, but Gilbert Gottfried died from an undisclosed disease about a year ago, too.
To be honest, in a way I understand it.
Yeah it's a double edged sword, but I'm not blaming anyone for not disclosing their illnesses, especially public figures. Paparazzi are fucking scum of the earth as it is, and if they're on a "death watch" and posting endless "tragic last days" articles in checkout lane tabloids, that's even more reason to keep to yourself about it. Like when Dennis Hopper disclosed that he had cancer, the press hounded him endlessly for months with those headlines. It seems to thankfully been scrubbed from the internet, but I distinctly remember a picture on one of those tabloids from when he fell in public shortly before he died and his wife or caretaker trying to help him up, obviously in distress, and the paparazzi scum just snapping pictures and not rushing in to help. I can't blame anyone for wanting to avoid any part of that.
Not to mention Robin Williams.
He got caught masturbating in a porno theater. I have no idea what kind of shitbag goes into a porno theater to spy on other people masturbating and then narcs them out for it, but that happened.
