I knew of Cripp Daddy in passing from his association with the Gavin McInnes/Anthony Cumia/Chrissie Mayr crew.

Reading a little bit about his death and watching that YT clip, he apparently had a podcast with his mom where she lays around on camera playing on her phone half-paying attention?

You got to it before I did. Man... another big part of my childhood is gone. He wasn't as flashy, and didn't have an over-the-top gimmick like many of his contemporaries, but Terry Funk always put on a helluva good show. Yeah, to alot of snobs, or people who outgrow professional wrestling, or consider it "beneath them", they probably couldn't care less. But to people of a certain age who grew up watching wrestling, these guys were/are real-life superheroes!

I will admit that this is the first time that I heard of this wrestler, but at least he can meet his father again. If anything, I consider him both lucky and grateful that him as a famous pro wrestler was at least able to live past the age of 65.

Most of the old wrestlers that I thought I knew never even lived past the age of 60, and mind you, I’m not counting the already beloved and popular ones like Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan.

Can't remember what video it was, but I remember watching one from him where he said something to the effect of "yknow, I feel bad for normal people like you. You have to deal with all these responsibilities and shit whereas people like me get to live the easy life in a wheelchair, playing with legos and shit without a care in the world. At least when I'm gone I'll die living a happy life and not filled with as much bullshit." And seeing as he's recently croked, I don't feel as bad for him since I'm sure he's lived a well meaning life all things considered.

As another painful gut-punch to the Wrestling community this week. Famous pro wrestler, Bray Wyatt, suddenly passed away at 36 years old.

😲

I knew his name sounded familiar. He was apart of the Nexus crew with David Otunga and Wade Barrett:

Early 2010’s in my personal, humble opinion was probably the last entertaining era of the WWE. I still remembered when they rebranded Nexus with CM Punk, but earlier, I didn’t know that Bret was a part of it until now.

Admittedly I havent followed wrestling too much in the past ~15 years or so (pretty much since it went to "WWE" and all pretense of kayfabe went away) much of it has been atrocious with horrible storylines and even worse work from many of the "superstars", but from the little bit I've seen, one of the few newer ones that stood out with some actual talent was Bray Wyatt. Of course he should though, he's the son of Mike Rotunda, better known as IRS/ M. Wallstreet, The Million Dollar Man's sidekick in the early 90s. And he's related to the Windhams, another notable wrestling family, so he has a good pedigree. It seems he's been off for a while with some undisclosed health issues, and even in the generally shorter lifespans of pro wrestlers, 36 is damn young. 😔
