Of all the "reality" talk shows that followed, his was still far and away the classiest. I remember how he'd run up the stairs to take questions from the studio audience, and I was always afraid the poor guy would have a heart attack.
I especially loved the era when he had those thick glasses that made his eyes big like Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys.

And the late Phil Hartman did a good parody of Donahue.
Awww, and Jan Hooks too. Those two were excellent together on SNL skits. I didn't see it live, but I did see it after Phil Hartman died when SNL replayed this skit that he and Jan Hooks did together. It's one of the few "serious" sketches that they've ever done, and it's just perfect.

Translation:
On August 20, 2024, my mother, the voice actress Atsuko Tanaka, peacefully passed away.

To all the fans who loved Atsuko Tanaka,
To everyone in the industry who worked with her during her lifetime,
I would like to express my deepest gratitude on behalf of her.

It is with great regret that I must inform you of this parent-child relationship in such a manner.

As per her wishes, I will not disclose the specific illness, but she bravely fought it for over a year with grace, humor, and strength. I believe it was a life that was truly characteristic of Atsuko Tanaka.

I feel truly blessed to have had such a proud mother.

Lastly,
Please do not forget that Atsuko Tanaka poured her heart and soul into the characters she loved and brought to life. And Atsuko Tanaka, the voice actress, herself.

With love and respect for the woman and voice actress that was my mother,
I sign this message with love.

I’m someone who owns and plays Bayonetta, and I’m shocked that she voiced Lisa Lisa from Jojo‘s Bizarre Adventure and Motoko from GiTS: Stand Alone Complex. The latter was a really good spinoff for the movie version of it, and her voice fit perfectly for the character.

Hard to believe she did this until the age of 61. May she rest in peace.

Alain Delon’s family refuse to kill dog actor wanted to be buried with

Alain Delon’s wish that his pet dog be put down and buried with him has been denied by his children after uproar from animal rights activists.

The Plein Soleil actor, who died aged 88 on Sunday (18 August), had requested his 10-year-old Belgian Malinois, called Loubo, be put down and placed in his grave alongside him in the cemetery in his village of Douchy in Loiret.

Following Delon’s death, campaigners expressed horror that Loubo would be killed, and offered to find the Belgian Malinois a new home instead. The Brigitte Bardot Foundation later announced that Delon’s daughter Anouchka had confirmed their family would keep Loubo.

I still remember those "On the next Donahue" commercials. There was an episode where Peter Criss confronted a guy homeless junkie conning people by pretending to be him. Of all the Kiss members you could impersonate you choose Peter Criss? Dude looked more like Peter Noon on crack.

This loser even fooled Tom Arnold.

I remember this one, the groupie in the black hat took him in because she thought he WAS Peter Criss.
