kek, as much as i love Gainax, that studio was mismanaged pretty much since its inception. It's such a typically japanese phenomenon that the studios with literally the most hot shit IP and releases are usually the ones that struggle the most financially and i never understood how they manage that. Not only anime studios, virtually anything pop culture related is affected.
