RIP Richard Carter, AKA the Bullet Farmer from Mad Max Fury Road.

Personal favorite films featuring Hauer include Nighthawks (1981), where he played a sociopathic "terrorist-for-hire" who comes to NYC in order to pull off a job he hopes will prove to potential employers that he's not losing his touch - some of the other people in the international terrorist underground are starting to shy away from him. A task force is assembled including undercover duo Billy Dee Williams and Sylvester Stallone.

And as the leader of a mercenary band in vaguely medieval times in Paul Verhoven's first feature directed in the United States, Flesh+Blood

And that old cult favorite The Blood of Heroes aka Salute of The Jugger, where in the grim future, after Earth has been rendered a wasteland after a series of wars and most people scratch out a living farming and raising dogs for food, the only form of popular entertainment is The Game, where teams of five compete to score goals by placing a dog's skull on the opposing team's goal, the roving teams play against local teams with tribute as the prize - the hope is to get noticed by the League, the big-time Game teams who compete in the underground Nine Cities ruled by an aristocracy that lives in comparative luxury for surface-worlders. Hauer plays a former League player who was booted out back to the surface for his affair with a city overlord's daughter and now, with a new team gathered around him, he might have a chance to take the fight back underground.

Also, highly recommend one of Hauer's early roles in the 1979 detective story "Grijpstra & De Gier". WARNING: there is footage of boobs in this trailer.

RIP Russi Taylor, the voice of Martin Prince (and twins Sherri and Terri plus Uter, Lewis, and Wendell) on The Simpsons, Minnie Mouse (since 1986), Huey, Dewey, and Louie on Ducktales (original series, though she did guest star as young Donald Duck on an episode of the remake), Strawberry Shortcake, Baby Gonzo on Muppet Babies, and many other voices. She was 75.

That is very sad.

More Simpsons voice actors are dying and Fox keeps renewing the series long after its due. I'm really worried what could happen if Julie Kavner or Harry Shearer died while the show was still premiering new episodes. They're both in the same age group as Russi Taylor and IIRC, Julie Kavner has major health issues in addition to her advanced age
