Garden slugs

"The teen spent 420 days in a coma and woke up with brain damage, rendering him unable to move his limbs."

Don't eat the dank slugs guys.

The foods on this list I've never eaten and probably won't. Fugu or sashimi pufferfish is a dish that will kill you if not prepared right. I can't remember which organs have the toxin, but it's one of the most dangerous toxins for humans. Not sure if Japan made an antidote for it or not.

Kiviak, little auks stuffed into a seal's stomach and left to ferment. Quite a bit of people get botulism and die from it.

Some sort of Jamaican dish with ackee, a fruit that's toxic if under ripe.

Polar bear meat, too much vitamin A is going to kill you.

The Korean dish where they eat a live octopus. Really not sure how I feel about it since I've seen videos where they dump lime juice and salt in the octopus's eyes before eating it, but people die from choking as the octopus doesn't want to die and clings onto their teeth.

No interest in making a mayo based dressing since the whole point is to make an "authentic" dressing. Otherwise it seems like using miracle whip vs. Mayo kind of idea.

I'd eat the shit out of you.
If you're making an authentic Caesar dressing usually people take a stab at it around 40 or so times before they get it right.

Don't worry accidents and salmonella poising happen.

Im not even sure if using Mayonnaise isnt more authentic, no way they didnt used their freshly made Mayonnaise as base for it.
The only difference would be modern (proper mayo, not miracle whip) mayo uses pasteurized eggs and is thicker then homemade mayo.

no, they cut off the top of the squid mantle (including the brain) then for show, and taste I guess, pour sodium high liquid on it to make it move for show. The suckers are just reacting to normal muscle chemistry. Same thing happens in America with frog legs.

how bad are you people from the colonies in "cooking"? its just like making Mayo, the trick is that the egg and the oil sould be at the same temp.

Almost the entire fugu blowfish has tetrodotoxin in its body. Ranging from the skin, eyes, ovaries /testicles, fins, and most of their organs and there's no antitoxin. The best you can do for someone exposed to the poison is put them on a respirator and iv drip to keep their oxygen levels and hydration stable until the body naturally stabilizes the toxicicy and the paralysis passes.

It's not the poison itself that kills you, it's the paralysis that can spread to the lungs and stop your breathing.

Polar bear meat isn't the problem, its the liver you don't eat because of the vitamin A. Same thing for huskies apparently

In the US, Japan, and Australia eggs get washed and kept refrigerated. You don't have to worry about chicken shit being on the outside of the egg so you don't have to do that 'only crack eggs on a flat surface' thing Eurocucks do.
If you're a Eurocuck and your eggs aren't refrigerated, or you are getting unwashed eggs from a local farm, you can just wash the eggs before you crack them if you see spots of chicken shit on them.
The CDC estimates that maybe 1 in 20,000 eggs is infected with salmonella. Raw egg isn't really as risky as it was several decades ago.

I have many chickens. They’re not old enough to lay eggs yet, but soon I’ll get lots. My friend’s mom has some that we get eggs from on occasion. You can keep Jose at room temp for a month or more. Wash them before use and you’re good. I haven’t gotten sick at all yet. I’d love to try making mayo or even spiked eggnog from scratch sometime. Raw doesn’t bother me too much.

How is ceviche dangerous? I usually get it from my local grocery store where it’s peeled shrimp (or mock crab) with tomatoes, onions and jalapeños. Pretty good imo.

Also with puffer fish, i thought I read that it picked up toxins from bacteria or food it ate? If you raise it without those wouldn’t it be fine? Unless that’s not “real enough” and you need the skill and risk in preparing it to fully enjoy it...

How is ceviche dangerous? It's cooked, just not in a normal way. Even the cheap as fuck ceviche I used to get at the mexican supermarket where you would get it out of a giant trough never gave me any issues.
In terms of dangerous shit that you can realistically get most places would be animal brains.

I do love tartar, I forget the name but there's an African dish that does it (they like some uncooked meats and inb4 africa doesn't eat jokes) that just cubes beef, like picture what you want to put into stew, they put some spice mix on and chow down. I'd give a whirl, but I think another thing is just how we eat changed.

I dated a girl who couldn't make ramen with out a fire truck near by but she made the best tartar.

I feel lame, I've only had a semi medium rare burger once. Anything below well done is illegal in Canada, but we have a great halal butcher/take out joint who doesn't give a shit. I need to get my other amazing butcher to fresh grind some beef for me and have a proper rare burger.

I fully invite you to freedom land, where we serve tartar and carprio (sp).

Lots of places here won't cook below med rare, because risks, but as you plan just do at home. I don't know how you do meat up there but if you want safe hamburger, get your chuck roast ground vs buying "hamburger" meat. it'll be same cow so no risks.

To be fair in my life, I've got sick once off raw cookie dough, never meat. Just saying.

Funny side story about rare meat, my grand mother bless her heart, likes rare, like blue rare. Now my mom and her brother tell the story of her cooking steaks. Grandma would put them in the oven, flip take out, so fast that she never bothered to close the oven door.

Yeah, I'll have to get fresh chuck from my butcher, it shouldn't be a problem. He had some pre ground Chuck last week, but I'll get him to grind me some.

Do you mean carpaccio? For some reason thats fine here (my favorite restaurant sells it).
Yes!! It's wonderful, I can't spell forgive me.

There's this weird ass Thai Tapas place near me (seriously amazing and insanely reasonable for what it is) but they have carpaccio that shames the big city stuff.

I stopped by a fancy cocktail/tapas bar one night and on the specials board they had it spelled cerviche, being the exceptional autist that I am I couldn't help but point it out.

Bar chick told the chef and he come out in a huff defending his pleb tier language skills and they both insisted it was correct, watched their faces go pale as they looked it up online.

I walked out after my drink as I said I didn't want to get piss ceviche and everyone clapped.

It has the same issue that sushi has in that fish can sometimes have worms and other parasites in it and the acidy won't kill them (still eat both though).
