In the past year, I went on a roadtrip from Kansas City to Dallas on Memorial Day weekend in 2012 to help out a friend with his love quest.
It ended as such :heart-empty:
and I went on a roadtrip from Kansas City to Maine this past July to meet with some friends I met online and it was pretty awesome. Even saw Chris's house on the way back! :ween: So, has anyone else here gone on a road trip recently and how was it?

A few years back I drove up from here in south west Arkansas all the way up to Scranton PA.

i'm heading to lancaster, pa this weekend. i'll let you know

I remember doing road trips to visit relatives in towns and cities far from my hometown. It was pretty fun before, I hope to do one myself in the future.

I drove from here to Houston last year in the summer. It was a silent 5 hour drive, and I didn't mind it one bit. Before that, the furthest I had gone was to San Antonio. I've been wanting to go further west in the recent years, though. My friend wants to go to Colorado some day, and I want to go all the way to the tip of Washington and back. My dad always talked about driving to California. Says it would make me a man going through all that desert and highway.

Remember to bring supplies. *yawn*

My brother and I went from Canton to Kings Island in July ( :julay: ?). My brother was a bit disappointed with the park, while I just walked around. We had a good time and we spent the night in a hotel. We might do that again some time, and we learned what we need to do to have a better time if we do it again.

I was planning to go to Toronto this fall with my dad, but it doesn't look like we'll do that, maybe we can do that next spring. We might go to Chicago instead.

I had a camping trip with 2 cousins and my brother a while ago. We traveled from where we are to Stockholm, then to Gothenburg via a coastal route, and then back home from there. In total, we were gone for about a week I think, and spent nights in a few different forests, a few different campings and one hotel. Does that count as a road trip?

Each year a friend and myself roadtrip from Allentown PA to Illinois to see our families and friends. Much beef jerky is consumed. It's a lot of fun.

That would count. It doesn't have to be epic, just slightly longer than going to the grocery store.

Always wanted to go on a road trip across America, in a minibus with some friends and beer.
Have to put it off until I'm 21, though. Wouldn't be any fun if we couldn't get served in bars.

I had to drive to Boston, MA and Horsham, PA from Scranton, PA over a period of this week for multiple job interviews. When I got back in the driveway at home, my odometer read like this:

Hope this is good omen.

I drove back and forth from California to Minnesota and back for moving/vacation. It was long but nice to see other states of the country, plus it was great to visit my brothers and best friend.

I love road trips. Mrs. Dude, Little Dude, The Dude's Mama, and myself drove from Salt Lake City to Anaheim in June and then Mrs. Dude and myself went to Yellowstone in July. I've been on several road trips in my life and just love them.

I thought for sure your wife's name would be The Dudette...

I don't know where you went but some of those photos seem...volcanic (I'm a volcano nerd so maybe I'm just hoping it's volcanic).

Roughly 99% of the traveling my family does is by car, so I've been on many road trips (matter of fact I traveled by plane for the first time less than a year ago that I'm able to remember). Here's a list of all the road trips I can think of (and can remember).
-Rapid City, SD to southern Wyoming and back
-Rapid City, SD to Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming and back
-Rapid City, SD to Denver, CO and back
-Rapid City, SD to Glacier National Park in Montana and back
-Rapid City, SD to Ocala (I think), FL, to Tampa Bay, FL to some Florida gulf coast island I can't recall the name of, and back to Rapid City
-Rapid City, SD to Yellowstone National Park, WY, to Grand Teton National Park, WY, and back to Rapid City
-Rapid City, SD to Tucson, AZ
-Tucson, AZ to San Diego, CA and back (twice)
-Tucson, AZ to LA, CA, to Sequoia National Park, CA, and back to Tucson
-Tucson, AZ, to Santa Barbara, CA, to LA, CA, and back to Tucson
-Walla Walla, WA to Portland, OR and back (Walla Walla is where I went for three weeks in August, if people wonder why I suddenly stopped posting until September)

When I did door to door sales I went to Calgary.

Really eye opening experience. I had conversations about life with people who lived in small towns, for weeks at a time. I remember I spoke to a vagrant that was my age who travelled there from the states and he mentioned he was living his life the way he wanted to. Free of obstructions and responsibilities. Not to mention I was away from my parents and travelling somewhere really far from home for the first time in my life.

It was a lot of fun and I really wanna do it again some day.

And in a month, I am going to Long Island. Personally, I'd love to stop by Chris's house again. :julay: But, seriously, I'm meeting up with a few friends along the way and go to a Yankees game, try some of the spiciest curry on the planet and eat so many pot brownies.*yawn*

All in all, really fucking fun.

I went through Florida to Mississippi to Louisiana to North Carolina once.

Road trips kick ass because a lot can happen between Point A and Point B.
