Can't help but notice Bob does not only use GamerGate as an example of the SVU being accurate but also Call of Duty. It is no secret Bob hates any game determined to be a dude bro game. Even without his hateful politics Bob would still be somewhat of a lolcow with his childish attitude of people he does not like also likes video games. For all of his talk about inclusiveness I would bet Bob would love it if video games only reflected his interests.

It ultimately stems from his hate boner from FPS games as they represent an evolution of gaming of a genre where many could enjoy it instead of more niche platformer that won't be everyone's speed. Bob is the very person he hates so much, he is an abrasive gamer who clearly resents the world and where he is, he is gatekeeper in the gaming world believing that only platformers are worth playing only "true gamers" play them, he wants to exclude folks from his hobby willingly just because of mundane lifestyle choices like fitness or mere political beliefs that usually matter fuck all in a video game.

It can be said enough but Bob at his core is an elitist prick by every metric of the definition and it is likely that will never change outside something worldshaking or divine intervention.

Keep in mind this was after several weeks of escalating problems where the Escapist had to drop Social Media policies in place and ban Bob from any official Escapist Twitter feeds because of his constant shit flinging at gamers. It wasn't simply the specific of what he had said this time. It was that he just would not stop after repeated warnings. His employer admonished him over and over and over to not do this. To not provoke the readership on Twitter. He refused at every turn. The only sperg I have ever seen anywhere close to him is Comics Writer Mark Waid.

Oh and unintentional irony or ironies, I'm not sure if it was this one, but I could swear that at least one of Bob's twittergasms accusing Gamers of being Rapists was him and Devin (admitted sexual assaulter) Faracci doubling up to fling the accusations at the people who just wanted to play their video games in peace. Yeah let that sink in.

Who would have thought back in 2011, that some of my favorite web reviewers would someday turn into screeching, Invasion of the Bodysnatcher aliens blathering incoherently about Drumpf and White Privilege? I even liked Lindsey Ellis at one time -in her first TGWTG review, she pulled apart the absurdities of Disney's Pocahontas and even mentioned its excessive pandering to political correctness. MovieBob was a liberal sperg, but one with an enthusiasm for cult media and a folksy style. Spoony, hell, he actually made decent content and introduced me to FMV games, a medium with which I was wholly unfamiliar.

And then sometime before Gamergate, it all fell apart. Maybe it was Obama's second election that gave the PC Police a sense of inevitable victory, - a sense that they could now pull off the masks and be the tone-policing Kommiseriat they had always wanted to be all along. Maybe Gamergate was the catalyst, who knows? All I know is that I can't really trust my own memories anymore. Who WERE these people whose stuff I enjoyed? The election of Trump has sorted the sheep from the goats - the people who put ideology and ego before friends and family and those who don't think someone to the right of Stalin should be locked up in a camp.

This is what disturbs me the most about Bob's behavior. His inability to see that he is the monster that he wishes to destroy. And I also wonder if I have destructive traits that I'm blind to. I'm certainly uncomfortable with the level of rage that Bob's behavior inspires in me. I hope I can learn something from this...

I feel some people feel that way. I feel like after Avengers 4, we're going to see a dip in quality, especially since all the original actors like Downey Jr, Evans, and Hemsworth said they’re done after the fourth one. Plus, when Kevin Feige has his contract expire by next year and steps down, Disney will take control over it, as Black Panther was supposedly Bob Iger's idea.

I doubt Bob or anyone will need to worry about that since Feige has the MCU slate planned till 2025 and Black Panther was his idea as was Captain Marvel and were factors in him wanting Perlmutter out.
