When people started getting fired for things said on their personal social media I thought it was bullshit. Even when Bob was fired from The Escapist I though that was crossing a line. Corporations shouldn't dictate what their employees can say or do in their personal time.
...But I don't feel bad now it's happening to these people. They made this bed, they can lie in it.

I mean the problem does boil down to people like Bob not seeing the barrier between personal time and their professional life. If anything they use the names of more successful brands to hype up their own shit. Bob doesn't care about the Escapist as much as the power it grants him as he claims to be a "professional" and demands others to be like himself.
If a Bob doesn't draw the line, why should anybody who employs him?

Reading Bob's feed is like being locked in a basement as a blind-folded diabetic spaz swings his fists and feet at anything in the room like a fat drunken Zangief. By comparison, Reading Sam Ambreens feed is like holding a crazy mangy cat in your hands while she's trying to claw your face off. I don't know how those posters keep up with her, so I guess it is just a varying degree of tolerance.

Not just him. There's a lot of inspiring stories that rose from bullying and became great people as adults. Something Bob hasn't, nor will read because of his narcissism. To him, if the rest can't think like him then they should all perish by the might of the Superiah futah. It's quite sad really.

The problem, and the reason they get fired, is they have no barrier between the personal and the professional. It’s always about the personal. It’s all about them. They were never taught that proper life seperation. That “use our in public voice” rule. It’s an important thing that most learn growing up. Those that don’t seek to become fat worthless Peter Pans attached to nerd and genre related industries.

I tend to treat getting fired online like getting robbed because you don't lock you're door. It's wrong that it happened but you're still an idiot.
It's okay not to personally give a shit about an individual occurance while still acknowleging intellecually what happened was wrong.
As a side note I'm fairly confident most of these people are almost certainly given at least a verbal warning. For example we know chipman was told to knock it off, but didnt.
