Difference is now Bob is 40 and that just makes it even sadder and more pathetic. At least a teenager you know will more than likely grow out of that phase.

The reason why Bob hasn't grown out of this "phase" yet is because he hasn't really had to grow up period. He's never had to face the real life responsibilities and obstacles that make normal people grow up.

Normal people grow up because they have to. Maintaining a career, raising a family, paying a large amount of bills. These are the things that cause children to evolve into adults. We act the way we do as kids because we haven't yet had to face these struggles. We are at our most egotistical during our youth. It begins shedding away as we progress throughout grade school, and it eventually shatters completely for most people as we enter the real world.

But then you have cases like Bob where it doesn't. His parents shielded him as a child from authoritarian figures that thought there was something wrong with him. That childhood ego of his remains completely intact as he gets older, and it continues to avoid any form of weakening as he avoids actual responsibilities. He lives with family members so his bills are at a minimal. He never works a real job because he's lazy, a moron and has no real skills. And he's a social retard so he never finds somebody to have a family with.

He acts like a teenager because mentally he still is one.

oh. So, in other words:
:autism: :autism: :autism:

EDIT: Also if it's true that his parents played the "my son is a perfect angel with no defects or problems" card, it speaks to a particularly egregious case of "Head in the Sand Parenting" that likely was also the case with the parents of his #1 fan, Andrew Dobson.

Insulting Boomers and then having a massive boomer moment with his TV and tweeting about it.

That's our Chipman!

The fact he still has "#rehirejamesgunn" on his Twitter name is cringy as fuck.

I'm willing to bet that he'll never remove that from his Twitter name. Even if Gunn was rehired he'd still keep it in there as a reminder of how right-wingers tried to ruin one of his favorite film franchises.

I wish Bob could have an actual scientist sit him down and explain how his dumb Star Trek fantasy is never going to happen. No, "BUT A BREAKTHROUGH MIGHT HAPPEN" is not going to make it happen even if there was a breakthrough in this. Your base understanding of space travel and the requirements for it are flawed.

When I was a child I watched Star Trek and dreamed of being an Astronaut and traveling thru space. Then I turned 10 and realized Astronauts don't even go to the moon anymore let alone deep space and shit into vacuum toilets so fuck that it's funny I came to a realization at 10 and Bob pushing 40 hasn't. Also it's ironic its Republican Administrations who keep wanting to invest into the space program and go to Mars while Democrats believe that's a waste of government spending. I mean we have a Welfare State oh sorry "Superior Future" that needs funding.

This is going to seem :offtopic: at first, but I'll bring it around. I remember a while back, must have been 2008 or there abouts, when people were complaining that cowboys were under utilised as a setting for games. I think Bob was one of them. There were cowboy games, Sunset Riders, Call of Jaurez, Red Dead Revolver, but there wasn't a lot that was well like. No one is really nostalgic for Day Dreamin Davy or the Lucky Luke games.

I think Bob and co. are complaining about Red Dead Redemption 2 because they hate for Rockstar for not being politically correct, but let's say for sake of argument they're genuine in their criticism. What were they really expecting? I'm no expert on cowboys, but I assume there's more to it than 10 gallon hats, ponchos, six shooters, and Mexican stand offs.

I say all of this because Bob raging about a game he's not played reminds me of Reset Era saying "Cyberpunk is just an aesthetic to them!" and "Real cyberpunk is a progressive utopia!", or anti-comicsgate people saying super heroes are campy and silly and don't try to do more than that. It seems like all Bob wants is a whip crack as the hero rides into the sunset before giving a knowing wink to the camera about how cliche it is.

The whole "Games aren't supposed to be fun!" argument sprung from the glut of pixel art indie games and walking simulators. Most were dull as dishwater and when "2deep4u" didn't fly, they tried to claim that being a bad game was the point. The problem with that argument is that every game is a classic. Because Wii shovelware 826 was supposed to be bad. You're meant to bored because it's making a profound statement about our culture.

Bob assumes that "AAA games culture" will suddenly start using that argument when there's a bad AAA game, but I don't know why he'd think that aside from projection. There's lots bad AAA games that are widely hated. Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 2, No Man's Sky, Sim City, Aliens Colonial Marines, the list goes on and on. Hell, even Rockstar games aren't immune from criticism. Nobody liked the way your cousin would call every 5 minutes and want to go bowling in GTA4.

It's not even a downer thing, getting a man on Mars is totally a possible thing in our lifetime. The problems start to arise when you start talking about space colonies and moon wheat before the beetus claims Bob.

Not a surprise coming from the "Manhattanize all New York state" guy but Bob seems to have issues with comprehending the scale of his visions beyond "this sounds good to me". You can't just make a livable atmosphere overnight or any short amount of time and he doesn't consider if the amount of resources (fuel) is worth frequent trips. It's not effective, most of those rocks are barren with little we can use when we get there. You can make something out of nothing so we'd have to spend more to get shit there. A new discovery might make rockets more effective but it's extremely doubtful we can just invent alchemy.

As I said in the previous post, I already know someone explaining this to him would basically result in you getting mentally compared to some stock "doubter" character in a movie where someone invents some crazy thing but nah, this is just scientific illiteracy at work.

Getting angry about someone talking to you while you're doing something makes my Aspie detector go wild.

So much for thinkers and believers, because the rest of that is a fucking lie yet Bob believes it without question. It takes like 1 second to grab an item, and if you're too lazy to do that use the fucking catalogue on the counter.

Doesn't Bob think games that aren't made for children are the domain of douchbros and wasteland ghouls? Why does he even care?
