Have to admit, I'm getting old and out of touch of this internet autism game. I really didn't see this escalation coming.

I'm not gonna go "WTF, I love Lindsay Ellis now", because I really don't like her, and sure, if we were in a autism free environment, yeah, the polite thing would be to tell Robert off in private.

But Robert was really pushing it with the friendship and being a "colleague" thing, and now acting out all hurt and blocking his tweets just show how deep, and creepy, his delusions were.

But yeah... this is a new low for our boy Robert. Never saw him in this position before. Sure, he was made fun by the wokies before, but seems like there was a lot more under the surface that is just erupting now.

Anyway... I think this will be lowest of Robert we are gonna see for a while, so what's next from here? I see a couple of options:

1- Business as usual: you know when he got kicked out of the escapist 2nd time, and Robert went "Ah, it's just business, oh well". He will do that with Lindsay "ok, my mistake then, we are not friends, still like your work, so anyway...". It is the most logical, if not disappointing way to go. Robert has a big ego, but he knows how to eat frogs.

2- Go to war. Lindsay becomes the new Aimee and Robert throws himself in screen cap replies like a mad man. Now THIS would be funny, but I give a 00001% of this happening.

Thats fair, I guess I feel kind of sympathetic as I had a friend in high school who was similarly awkward around women, and got dressed down in the middle of the school newsroom for saying a girl was his friend. He wasn't exactly chicken marinated in Mountain Dew awkward, but I still kind of cringe when I see something like this happen.

The most telling part is in replies Lindsay has explained it wasnt really even about him harassing her, she just didn't like being associated with him because of Bob's antifans. I'll give her a little benefit of a doubt here. The original pic he loved to constantly show from years ago had that vibe of a pretty popular girl in HS feeling sorry for the class loser and signing his yearbook. But for years he has used this as proof that they are friends so she tried to low key give him a hint that they weren't without actually flatout shattering his dreams they were, but she finally had enough and decided to shout to the world for him to knock it off.

Which thank god she did do this publicly and not privately just to see Film Robert's heart publicly broken and humiliated. This is probably HS all over for him.

The opportunity for this had likely passed ages ago. He and Lindsay are public people; ostensibly, he kept insinuating in the open that they were friends. If she addressed this in private, people would still be left with an impression they indeed had a relationship.
And there is no non-devastating way of publicly saying, ‘This guy and I, despite what he was claiming, are not friends and never were.’
