I see this happen with a lot of Internet "History" channels. Especially those with a cartoony, pop-culture bent like Overly Sarcastic Productions. They push Progressive politics and blast Capitalism believing that social progress is inevitable and always going to move forward. As if civillization is a video game and that once a certain level is achieved, it will never dip below that level. While they claim to be aware of historical collapses, they never believe that it will happen in THEIR time. Modern technology is too resilient for that. (Of course, they ignore all of the places in modern times,- like Bosnia- that collapsed because of war and internal strife. They ignore the fact that cities pretty much become charnel houses in times of war because they become too costly or difficult to get supplies to.) As much as I hate Bob's ignorant and self-serving politics, there's little danger that anyone other than his sycophants will listen to and support him. Pop culture channels that push the "Inevitable Social progress" line though, can do a lot of damage because they're fun and entertaining and kids will believe what they say. Not that what they say is always wrong, but they have that air of "We're on the Right Side of History," that precludes any skepticism of what they say.

It frames the big dip as being the Christian Dark Age while ignoring the fact that it was the Western Empire that collapsed into oblivion. As many have already stated here, it was the efforts of those in the Church that contributed massively to saving the old texts during that time, this having a hand in making the Renaissance.

I'm guessing he's trying to say that Dennis Rodman was overvalued. Rodman was a key contributor to the second-half of the Bulls dynasty. The guy pulled in so many rebounds and busted his ass after he got a wake up call from his coach and teammates. The guy won five titles and is a Hall of Famer. Overvalued my ass.

I think Bobert was trying to make the connection because Ninja and Rodman have dyed hair, but his analysis falls flatter than his flirtation attempts. People normally would think twice before spouting off about things they don't understand, but not him. Bob will never be able to grasp how stocks work and it requires quite an explanation in order to understand how stocks work, but it boils down to something pretty simple: A stock can go up when the company announces new innovations or has a good economic period, effectively increasing the value and therefore, the price of the stock. It gives people safety in the value of the company. They can go down on a bad economic year, when one of the projects doesn't pan out or when a huge scandal hits an important figure, therefore making the future of the company seem uncertain.

As well, stock can be artificially manipulated thanks to especulators, who wait until a certain moment in order to inflate the value of the stock by buying it like madmen or devaluating the value of the stock by selling it like hot potatoes. This was very common in Europe during the 2012, where speculators sank the economy of the weaker countries in order to especulate with the value of the Euro. And this foul play could still be happening.

I could put more examples like the case of Chocfinger (the man who once owned 30% of the world's chocolate) or the whole shit that went down with Theranos (a company built on thin air worth 4 billion dollars), but i will keep it short and sweet: as long as the redditors hold to their stocks and the company doesn't take a huge hit (closing enormous amounts of stores, scandals...) the value will most likely not go down.
