Bob still can't handle that Mario and Luigi are not from Brooklyn. Says it makes more sense than them being from the Mushroom Kingdom.

He had this insane fascination with the possibility that one day he might become the real Mario. The backstory of Mario as a person in the real world who was pulled into the fantastical Mushroom Kingdom fed into this. He had a fucking breakdown when Yoshi's Island made Mario a native of the Mushroom Kingdom instead. This is in his goddamn book.

That's really stupid. Not just from the point of view of him wanting to be real life Mario but technically Yoshi's island wouldn't even contradict his ideas since the plot involves the brothers before the stork could take them to their parents in who the hell cares land. You're telling me he's too dumb to understand a Mario plot.

1. making a Call of Duty movie is stupid because FPS games have no story, so make a gritty first person war movie like if Hardcore Henry had no self-awareness that will traumatize the audience into being anti-war.
2. Everyone hated Iron Fist so the Defenders is probably gonna suck, let's drop the ninjas no one cares about and instead make one of the dumb villains (The Mandarin, Abomination) from the movie series the real villain
3. Nintendo is thinking of having someone competent make a Mario movie finally, this scares me because I am obsessed with the original Mario movie, please make this like that because i hate change
4. An American remake of Akira is terrible (I actually agree with him on this), but if you MUST do it, make it about Black Lives Matter

I think Bob's paranoia about change is one of his funniest elements since he's a fat white guy who accuses the fans of whatever he's currently shitting up of being fat white guys afraid of change. Not that those are in short supply.

It's such an Inferior Past movie that Bob won't deign to watch it. Also, it is not a cartoon or a comic-book adaptation.
And seriously, as a Randroid, Bob would have zero empathy to the protagonists. Adult concepts like "mortgage" and "foreclosure" are alien to him anyway.

Where would I stand in Bob's world view? My family saved up money to move to the countryside to get away from the shitty ghetto we were living in where schools were very poor quality and I got shit on by all kinds of people for being pasty white when my father's a black immigrant. Getting out of there really helped turn things around.
I think he's trying to say anyone who's against globalization and his "post-nationalist" ideas hates transportation for making the world smaller and more connected or something.
