Is Galactus even interesting enough as a character to be the next overarching big bad?

He's not even really evil, right? Isn't he just basically a force of nature who has to do what he does just because?
That could be interesting: trying to stop an entity that just has to eat planets and whether there is some kind of immorality to it all among the tragedy. The problem is that this is the MCU we're talking about and not even pre-Infinity War MCU that might have taken than risk. They aren't going to make another great effort like someone with Zemo or the buildup with Thanos because they don't have the time or space to do that anymore. The MO now is just pump shit out while it lasts. Bobert is the metric by which we can reasonably measure what MCU fanatics are going to do with this next phase and he is already all aboard and stiff with anticipation.

This is aside, but Brian Bendis is really, really fucking bad at writing comic books and makes bad decisions that everyone hates.
Case in point, Bendis effectively broke up the Superman family by having Lois and Jon/Superboy go on an intergalactic road trip with Jor-El (who reappeared for no reason despite Dr. Manhattan whisking him away at the end of "The Oz Effect.") Lois returned to Earth shortly thereafter without even telling her husband, and some comic book YouTubers insinuated that she was seeing Lex Luthor on the side. Then Jon returns seven years older having been held captive by Ultraman and Superwoman on Earth-3 before buggering off to join yet another Legion reboot. Fan largely hated this and many want Jon returned to childhood, but DC refuses and are even making him Superman II while Clark goes to Warworld because Future State.

As for Naomi, she is basically the DC version of Riri Williams because he is obsessed with creating characters to appeal to his adopted daughter. Fuck. Bendis even had her join the Justice League for his run.

Too bad that isn't Robert's own point of view, he is merely borrowing it from the TV/Hollywood "safe left" take. There is a new current going that now it is okay of making fun of progressive subjects, if the the point is to make fun of the cynical fashion big media/entertainment conglomerates use minorities and LGBTQs shit for superficial pandering platitudes.

SNL just made a sketch about that... not really a sketch really, more like a quick dig at the middle of a song, but the trend is, it is okay to point that out, even if it smells of cheap lampshade bullshit.

So now Robert is just following the "right side of history", It is another one of Robert's curious traits, for all the opinions and hot takes he has, if you pay attention, most of his positions are what can be called "safe left", a broad and non committing stance of agreement of all progressive issues, mening that democrats yay, republican boo, and you are pro everything except guns and religion.

In short "safe left" is all the opinions you see hollywood stars spew so they don't lose their jobs.

And that is what Robert follows. His more extreme opinions only come in this weird self-service "rationalization" of the workings of the world, you know, the Thinkers VS belivers superior future crap. That shit is a 100% Robert, and is because there is nothing Robert loves more than to fancy himself as the evolved thinker of the future, and the main reason why he just can't help himself on twitter.

Otherwise? You could say Robert is quite the basic bitch in terms of politics, if you watch Jimmy Kimmel or check out AOC's instagram, you would know what Robert has to say about pretty much any subject.
Bob is a Globo-Homo Fascist who LARPS as a neolib. Even then he has no real developed ideas other than knowing that he wants a gay star trek future where he can Bing Bing Wahoo forever in delusion.

He's an intellectual lightweight.
Eternals: "We didn't interfere until now"
Thanos: *Literally wiped entire planets clean, eliminated a ship load of refugees from Asgard, eliminated half of life in the universe and probably ending thousands of endangered species and was only reversed by time BS*
Eternals: *latte sipping intensifies*

Bob is literally the most "consoom' person I have ever seen. Sure, Marvel has some pretty decent stuff, but he's just so OBSESSED that he can't point out the obvious problems. Hell, CHRIS CHAN thought Sonic Boom, a series that he worshiped his entire life was awful even though it was a stupid reason.
Bob only works in absolutes, and since Marvel and Disney are psychological pins for him, they must be successful. Because he vicariously lives and believes those successes are his successes.

He has to rationalize and scream to himself every day on them still being good and popular, because in his mind if Disney and Marvel eat shit, then his own life will turn to shit.

Excellent point. Where do they go now? The MCU up until End Game was build up after build up after build up. You can draw a clear line from Iron Man in 2008 to End Game in 2019. The first movie after End Game was Spider-Man: Far From Home and what was it's teaser? JK Simmons playing J Johna Jamenson playing Alex Jones and Nick Fury's in space. Beyond that, and something that's directly asked in The Eternals trailer, the only thing left is who's gonna be the new Avengers? Are we gonna have another TEN YEARS of basically the same movie that builds up to....what exactly? I'm a little in the know with the marvel universe and some of the biggest threats have already been taken care of, Thanos, Ultron, and Dormammu. The only threats that I can think of that have the same levels of danger that those do are Galactus, but like @King Dead said his wind's kinda taken out of the sales after Infinity War, maybe Gorr the God Butcher who might be a tie in for the symbiotes , who's already going to be a throw away villain of the week in Love and Thunder so that's done, other than that it's the weird eldritch stuff which will not translate to film and The One Below who is Marvel's Satan. Is Riri Williams, Lady Thor and Spider-Cuck gonna punch out Satan after getting holy boxing gloves from The One Above, who is Marvel's God?

The well is tapped. They shot their load with Infinity War and I think we're gonna see some real diminishing returns. I think @Positron posted the cap of someone talking about Black Widow being brushed aside and I had completely forgotten that it was even a thing. I don't see anyone squeeing for Black Widow. The only "discourse" I've seen, besides the little bit that Bob complains about Widow being put online and in theaters, has been about how great Wandavision is and they now have a female Chinky director. Those are the only things I remember being talked about the MCU this year.
The only satisfying way to continue imo would be for the universe to get fucked by cosmic threats that the infinity stones had been holding back, requiring wanda to activate reality warper powers and retcon x-men and ff into the MCU.

What? That sounds like total nonsense.

They know that there is no way that they can successfully amend the constitution to give statehood to DC so they will pretend that they don't have to.
The Supreme Court will veto any attempt to give DC statehood without an amendment because it's blatantly unconstitutional.

If mainstream Dems, as opposed to AOC and her clique, start talking about packing the Court in response to that then American democracy will have reached a dark place.
Spanish Robert agrees
Es basado.

Calling yourself an anti-fascist tiktaalik is really just a ripoff of that shitty Anti-Semitism Cow gimmick account.

Also, I shudder to think how bad the Powerpuff Girls pilot must be if even the infamously shitty CW thinks it's too shitty to air.

Apparently the pilot script leaked, and it's awful.

It's not a sequel/continuation of the original cartoon. In fact, the original cartoon exists in this universe as a sanitized kiddy version of the PPG's exploits.

Professor Utonium is a piece of shit.

There's no Mojo Jojo. Somebody named Mojo does exists here, but he's a human being.

Yeh, there has been this leak how Mojo is like Mojo Jojo's either adopted son or genetically made one, also the original Mojo Jojo is dead and his brain is put into Mojo's pet monkey...who doesn't even talk, despite having the brain of a super genius.

I'm not that familiar with the Eternals, but wasn't Thanos the son of two of them?

I was wondering how they were going to shit on the original since previous tactics like "Snub the fan-favorite original voice actors" and "Include a writer's creepy self-insert OC that's he's actively shipping with one of the girls" wouldn't really apply to live action.

Making the original cartoon into, canonically, a soulless propagandistic lie invented by a thieving abusive stage dad is far more vile than anything I was expecting. I must congratulate the writers on exceeding my expectations in every regard. Truly, it would be an honor to dig a new, deeper, pit in Hell just for them.

It was total nonsense. DC heavily promoted that "Bendis is Coming" back in 2018, but the ugly truth is that Bendis is a washed-up hack who does not bring a huge audience as he didn't create an appreciable sales increase. You can also tell that he creates "original" characters like Rogol Zaar and Red Cloud because he's hungry for royalties.

@MirrorNoir would likely know more, but wasn't Bendis one of the writers who pioneered "writing for the trade" style that basically ruined pacing for comics? I doubt Bob would know about anything Naomi because comic books are well being his reading comprehension. Hell, it would surprise me if Bob read the instruction booklets for his NES games.

I'm honeslty wonder what my older sister will think when I tell about the show and about how the orginal cartoon is ment to be propaganda. She grew up and love the old cartoon.

No, even in the comics talks, The Eternals are taken more as a footnote in Marvel's history as it was Jack kirby's last work for them than the actual story and characters, which weren't really all that good nor memorable, as Kirby was mainly re-using ideas he worked on before. However the comics don't matter in the least anymore.

Regardless, the same could be said about the Guardian of the galaxy, no one cared, but with a clever script and enough exposure, I don't see why Eternals can't be a hit as well. I know a lot of people want to see Disny/marvel fail, but they do employ the best talent around, and while I have zero desire to watch any of these movies anymore, it would be foolish to deny the mass apeal they still hold on audiences.

So who knows at this point, if I had to bet I would say these movies are too big to fail right now, the movie will be a hit by pure momentum, now if Eternal will add to said momentum, then i would say no, and if these next movies also fail to raise the bar in terms of captivating a larger and new audience, then Disney might have some trouble ahead.

I should also note that the only real fucking reason to make an Eternals films is two-fold:

1. To introduce the Celestials, who Thor had a major multi-arc story fighting at the start of the DeFalco Thor run and who can be used to handwave why mutants exist once the X-Men come along

2. To introduce Sersei and Black Knight, who are at the center of the whole "Gatherers Saga" which involves Black Knight's evil double gathering an alternate universe army of Avengers who's world is destroyed by Sersei (via evil Black Knight's manipulation) and the fact that the Gatherers also had an alt universe version of Black Panther, which if they did correctly, would allow them to recast BP with Killmonger's actor if they need a plot excuse to do so.
