WTF does this even mean?!

It's not that hard, Bobby, but why imagine when we can actually see?

See, I'd be willing to believe that if I didn't already think of Bob as barely even a C-grade student. Just the way the man thinks and speaks makes me wonder if he wasn't held back a year or two. And most of his reading likely comes from text within video games.

If there was any proof that Bob was a decent student, then I'd be questioning why he took such the amazing downfall that he did. But with his constant tweet vomiting and poorly-opinionated views, I just can't see the man read anything more than game manuals on a regular basis, if that.

Chippers loves him some naked sophistry. Dude fancies himself one of the intellectual elite and despite it he's a fucking dumbass.

I guess that Bob's trying to act like a serious film analyst/prognosticator, but his film writing is akin to a malfunctioning robot that only ever read TV Tropes.

Also, take it from another SJW cow Jim Sterling, nothing's "iconic" before it comes out just because you say so.

Was blob much different pre 2014?

I see a lot of people in comment sections say they used to be a fan of his until he started chimping out over gamergate

Do we even know how good of a student he was? He clearly doesn't have the intellect/charisma necessary of a Galt/Roark type, but he might have been decent enough in school. All in all I'm reminded of a quote from Free Fire: "He was misdiagnosed as a child genius and never got over it."
Agreed, did he go to university at all, has he read critical theory?

There is really no limit to his cluelessness is there??

The last time I checked Asian countries are still in a Nationalistic turf war with each other. Hell, even China is having several petty turf wars within itself.

And for Bobby's reference -
South Korea had a female president. Look what happened.
Taiwan has a female president, and people don't like her.

Well, good luck and 繼續做你的春秋大夢吧!
Does Bob think the Asian economic miracle never ended? Most Asian countries haven't been full steam ahead for a while now, and even the Chinese government's official figures (which are always inflated lies) have demonstrated that their massive economic growth has very real limits, which is something that no Western economist ever doubted.

Bob is seeding justification for his eventual review slamming Wonder Woman (because it's a DC movie and Bob probably thinks higher of Trump than he does of Zack Snyder). He can't outright call it bad without losing progressive cred so he's already differentiating between the film's actual quality and its value as a feminist statement.

So, Ghostbusters 2016 all over again. It really is funny to see this loathsome oaf shill for gigantic corporations time after time.

One of the reasons I think Bob fails as a true critic is that he wears his biases on his sleeve. Everyone's got biases and their own preferences, even movie critics have them too. But most critics at least try to forgo their own preferences to make their reviews the least biased possible so ordinary people can decide if the movie is worth their time. Bob on the other hand will go into a movie wanting to hate it and 90% of the time will walk out hating it. We saw it with his Amazing Spider-Man and Michael Bay Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reviews. That's just poor form for anyone wanting to call themselves a critic, not to mention it makes his reviews unhelpful and unusable to anyone curious about certain movies. Why should I trust the opinion of a guy who was prepared to hate the movie before he saw it?

He reviews movies as a fanboy and not as a critic. I understand he's not big on Red Letter Media (I've never heard or read any of his takes on them, so I don't know for sure), and if you look at a comparison of their reviews and his the difference is immediate. Those guys understand film as an art form and as a craft; on any given episode of Best of the Worst they can spot boom mikes, crappy angles, issues with color temperatures, you name it. Bob's perspective is way more limited than that: is it a good comic book movie? Do the dudebros like it? How can he shoehorn his idiot politics into it?

(One of the most blessedly wonderful things about RLM is that 99% of the time they avoid politics completely.)

There's nothing wrong with fanboy reviews per se. But when a fanboy pretends he's not just a fanboy but a superior lifeform who can openly sneer at everyone who even mildly disagrees with him ... well, you get Bob. And I end up feeling like Jay Sherman talking to Duke Phillips about the Dryer Channel.

"People watch this?"
"Watch it? They send money to it!"

(Gets proven wrong)
"Nuh uh, muh superior future."
"Also look at my virtues I'm signaling."

Every single "debate" with movie blob.

Not even that: he simply dismisses his critics with haughty one-liners, something in the line of "not one of these again!" or "people have too much time on the hands", -- retorts that he wishes he had inflicted on his bullies at school.

Meanwhile, even the Inferior Past rejects him:

He's saying Wondy needs to be judged on two things, how good of a film it is and how many "empowering" gifs people can make for little girls whatever that means. IMO a Wonder Woman film should be more than how many girl power slogans you can fit and help establish her outside of the rut people like Bobby toss her in because of her vagina but what do I know? I've read way too many comics to get this superior future thinking.

Well, can't say the jocks growing up had (anime avatars), so he'll take what he can get even if it makes him look stupid and dismissive.
