What makes this noteworthy, I believe, is that in the movie Signs they wear the tin foil hats to keep their minds safe from the real threat, which I don't believe is even really in question at this point in the movie, and the tin foil hats do absolutely nothing to protect them. So even using his framing of the characters ultimately being right about the the threat, they're still wrong in their approach, which I may remind everyone they abandon the hats the next scene or two after a joke with Mel Gibson putting on the hat. Bob being Mr Pop-Culture-Extraordinaire clearly must know this AND know that the real threat is defeated with water AND faith right?
