Bob actually has read comic books and commented on them in his videos. When he was white-knighting Bioware over Mass Effect's ending, he compared the outrage to some shitty Green Lantern arc and said the comic's fans handled it much more gracefully.

To be fair DC/marvel readers are most likely far more hardened to shitty writting than the fans where. Plus he's wrong anyway. Fans have been salty about loads of shitty writting in the past Spidermans One more day for example was fucking wank and everyone knew it, the differance was Bioware was smart enough to try and fix the problem while Marvel are just conceited enough to take the hit.
I wonder if bob accepts gifts I'm really tempted to buy him a lifetime subscription to Garth Ennis' Crossed since he's so fond of 'indie' comics and likes bright vibrant colours.

I still think it's rather easy to pretend you know the comics through sheer cultural osmosis. Hell, I only ever read the "Essential" books that reprinted the Silver Age Marvel and a bit of DC, and a smattering of comic books, and yet I know shit like the Clone Saga of Spider man, Parallax's storyline where Hal Jordan was possessed, House of M, and so on.

Plus I completely am certain that Bob's main exposure were the cartoons for them that existed between the 60's and 90's, considering that his main understanding of good writing was Super Mario Brothers Super Show.

Bob usually tends to go with the popular opinions on movies, and thus is the first major female-led superhero film in a long time, so I actually think he'll give it an overall positive review with some DC saltines mixed in for good measure. If it's actually received well by fans as well I'd love to see the mental gymnastics he'd go through to justify why them liking this but not Fembusters "doesn't mean they're not sexist" or something.
