Bobby Boy isn't really a communist. He despises the working class. Communism is about tge low-level working proletariat uniting and seizing the means of production. Bob thinks these people are obsolete garbage who should either rejoice in the Superior Future or be crushed beneath it. He outright advocates for replacing democracy with a council of oligarchs who dispose of personal liberty because that's a negative variable. Most progressives mask their agendas with some kind of humanitarian sentiment. Bob is nakedly contemptuous of people who wouldn't benefit from losing their "jerbs".

One of the really weird things about Bob is that most lefties, even the SJW types, seem to feel the need to at least have a veneer of respect for the lower classes; to at least pretend to have a sense of compassion. And to stop being a snarling right wing troglodyte for a moment, I honestly believe lots of folks on the left genuinely have compassion and empathy for the poor, the disenfranchised, and the less fortunate. Bob has none of that. He's totally comfortable writing off vast swathes of the populace as dross to be ignored at best and actively crushed at worst. Lately he's been trying to characterize this sort of stuff as "gallows humor" but I don't think anybody's fooled -- there's too much nastiness and bile in his original posts.
I'd blame it on :autism:, but I don't think that applies to Bob -- one of the enraging things about him is that he's got a level of slyness and self-preservation a lot of lolcows don't have. Think of his keeping his mouth shut over Devin Faraci, for instance. Maybe he's just so deep in the bubble he has no idea how vile his opinions tend to be.

That's because Bob isn't a SJW so much as a bitter, arrogant elitist. His political positions are based on an :autism: obsession with some nebulous idea of "progress" towards his Star Trek utopia, so he shares the left-wing distaste for conservatism because he sees the entire philosophy as holding the human race back. But because his obsession with progress doesn't come from a place of empathy like many left-wingers, he's totally fine with ranting about the poor. What virtue signaling over social issues he does engage in is largely to fit in his industry and try to build a better reputation so he isn't in trouble whenever he does go full Mario Fascist.
And, honestly, its entirely possible he knew nothing about Devin Faraci. They live on opposite sides of the country (Bob's actually pretty isolated from the scene he wants to be part of living in Boston, and I don't think he's left the state in the past two years, maybe even longer). His interaction with the man was mostly limited to emails and aggressively agreeing with each other on various hot takes on the film industry. It's not like Faraci was lurking in chat rooms and creeping on women, the allegations against him said the event happened in a bar.

Couldn't you argue the "PoC" as he likes to call them are his lower class? It's only the white working class he screams at how they're going to be replaced by robots, he loves other poor people getting jobs and completely ignores how they'll get fucked even worse by his robots. Of course, you're right about the Superior Future being a world run by a council of mega corps isn't communism.

I have this weird feeling Bob doesn't believe PoCs occupy jobs which would be negatively affected by automation. He seems to think robots will only ever take over farming and manufacturing. I've heard him say nothing about how automation is already drastically affecting the service industry. You know, the industry where most poor non-whites work?
