I think I have a book that has helped shaped Bob's deluded worldview.....

I doubt he's read it. It doesn't have Mario in it. If he did, though, he'd probably think it was a utopian novel.

It doesn't make sense because his politics are dictated by his id. Logical consistency isn't the point, because his beliefs are a lashed-together morass of things that make his outsized tummy feel good, not a coherent viewpoint. In my armchair-philosopher opinion, this sort of "voodoo ideology" is very common among people like Bob, who are largely disconnected from society: without anyone FORCING them to think critically or understand the underlying metaphysics of certain political positions, political beliefs naturally drift into subservience to confirmation of base-level biases. (I would tie this to my larger personal opinion that many lolcows are such because, whether through regression or exceptionalism, they fail to progress up beyond a certain layer of the hierarchy of needs, instead being content to wallow at the lower levels.)

I think he just gets his political "views" (if you call them that) from whatever Twitter, reddit threads, or DailyKos forum posts he reads and has probably put more effort into his lesbian porn fantasies about Princess Peach and Pauline than he has any of the infantile posts he makes beyond what he hopes will get him attention.

This thread alone probably has more thought put into his "views" than he's actually done in his entire life, since they could be debunked in about 5 minutes worth of internet research and even a Wikipedia-level education on the stuff he talks about..

Not much to say that's on topic, they've been teasing some big death for the Infinity War movie. Personally if they want to follow the comic and have some depth to it then everyone should die against Thanos and get resurrected once he loses the gauntlet. Thanos' entire gimmick is he represents nihilism as an ideology which is why the only thing that stops him is his own faults unless you're a hack as the ideology is self-defeating. Not that he's always like that, Thanos has moments of self reflection and has grown beyond his obsession with Death/Oblivion/Non-existence. I'd be interested in seeing how Bob reacts to a plot like that assuming they don't go for "generic popcorn flick where everyone beats up a purple space dude". He'd find some way to miss the message big time.
