Gonna Sperg about Resident Evil for a bit.

Robert never played a Resident Evil game before, you can tell. Yes, Umbrella corp and their various underground labs is a ridiculous concept, but by "Captain Planet Villain 90s eco-topicality tried to be serious" is some serious work around that he thought he was being clever because what he knows about Resident Evil is the the Anderson's movies and wikipedia/youtube about it.
The thing about Umbrella is that till Resident Evil 5, we never see a central figure for Umbrella nor a clear goal for their experiments, besides making mutants virus nor we have a mustache twirling villain with a evil goal for the sake of being evil:
RE1: Wesker was to be a merely a researcher interested in the "ultimate life form", before he got impaled by such life form
RE2: Birkin was a monster for the most of game because he got "terminated" from his job, he has no goal besides making more of his "kind" using his Daughter.
RE3: Nemesis was just a big monster that followef Jill around to kill her. He didn't have much else as motivation, Umbrella in this case was just doing clean up.
Code Veronica: First time we see a "world domination" Villain in Alexia. And while she was with Umbrella as a kid, during the game it is made clear that the Ashford twins are working on their own, Umbrella, again, doesn't seem to have much agency in the story.
RE4: Umbrella is supposed to be gone by now, the game is about Leon suplexing spaniards.
RE5: The head of Umbrella, Spencer, dies in a flashback (and DLC) and his big bad plan was to find eternal life. Wesker takes the stage as the big bad "Captain Planet Villain" and wants to "take over the world" with Oroboros. This is the first game we actively see the idea of "bio terrorism" being used.
For the most of the series, Umbrella is just a logo that does evil science, but has very little in term of actual presence in the story or interaction with the heroes.
And how did Robert get that Umbrella now is supposed to be "Umbrella-As-WalmAzon" in that trailer I have no fucking idea. Again, Robert work these "concepts" in his mind that he thinks he is being so very clever and then tries to work backward to justify it.
I love RE and the movie looks like Sci-fi channel crap, and I sorta dig it, looks like they want to combine the plot of the two first REs and well looks like it will be a shit show but I just don't get how do you get the "StrangerDale-S.T.A.R.S vs Umbrella-As-WalmAzon" galaxy brain read that Robert has.
And again, Robert never played a Resident Evil game, fucking poser all around this guy.
