In his haste to dump on Musk, Bobby here shows he doesn't understand what an automotive recall is or is deliberately pretending he doesn't in order to bash the 'right' kind of target.

A recall doesn't mean you send your car back to the factory, it doesn't mean the manufacturer or dealer retroactively loses a sale. It doesn't mean the car goes to the junkyard....

It means you receive a letter in the mail saying "According to our records, you are the owner of a 2020 Tesla Model Whatever, the manufacturer has noted that "part A' on this vehicle is defective and poses a safety risk. At your earliest convenience, please have this part replaced, save the receipts, and we will cover the costs."

That's it.

It doesn't mean you now get a free car or have to send yours to anyone else against your will, or get compensated the cost of buying the whole thing new......

And as the other poster there points out, a recall is hardly unprecedented. It's a standard thing in the auto industry and has been for years.

In fact, some hard-core car collectors consider the Holy Grail to be a car that has, among it's papers, actual recall notices which provide provenance that it is from the year/model/trim level it claims to be as not EVERY car is affected by a recall. Only ones with certain parts.

Tesla doesn't lose any of the sales from those recalled cars, they don't have to pay a fine or take them back. Having one-too-many recalls can get them labeled as a maker of lemons, or a particularly bad recall (Like the Ford Explorer's tires) can get a specific model labeled a deathtrap and cost you sales going FORWARD... but a recall doesn't mean that the NHTSA gets to go into his company books and vacate sales like the NCAA vacating wins from a team caught cheating.....
Imagine being so priveleged and disconnected that you don't fathom how automotive recalls work. Score one for Proletariat Robert.

To add onto that devastating point, Robert specifically asks if any automakers other than Tesla issue recalls for 475,000 or more cars in a single year.

First result I found from a few weeks ago, Honda recalled nearly 800,000 cars because the hoods might fly up while driving:

Having owned a Ford Ranger, recalls are extremely common and no big deal. A vehicle that, despite the recalls, was so popular on the used market they brought it back. (And I sold mine for more than I paid for it a couple years ago).

But you don't understand; Bob is a miserable half-aware but self deluded retard who throws his inadequacies at people for arbitrary bullshit reasons for the rest of time. He needs a win to stave off the desire to just suck on radon till dead. If it can't be via proxy with companies, it must be against self declared foes that never change.

Because he's an emotionally constipated mong who eats crayons and flaps his arms as people tell him what the color of the curtains mean.

There was also that mass GM recall of Chevrolet Cobalts for faulty ignition cylinders that could shut off the car while driving if bumped wrong..... and it also affected other platform-derivative models like the HHR and Pontiac G6... some 700,000 vehicles in all.

> there is such a thing as objective good, and true evil
> no bad tactics, only bad targets

Pick one and only one, Peliculas Roberto.
remember this is also the Bob that occasionally posts that bullshit meme "The wise man bowed his head and said, 'There is ZERO difference between Good things and Bad things, you fucking moron'" which is extremely contradictory to Bob's already contradictory assertions.

Anything that makes Bob sound smart will get tweeted out.

"I don't have to understand what things mean, I just have to say them."

Bob's a Dunning-Krueger kid. He'll act like he understands the history of automobiles, trains, planes or anything else even as he gets things completely wrong.

Throwback to when he showed off his expert knowledge on firearms. I forget exactly how it went, but it was something along the lines of "Smith & Weston made the Winchester, the AR-15 used in [X massacre]." If you know anything about guns, you'll realize he listed three completely different fucking manufacturers.

Air bag recalls are super common too; mine had one a good while back since the chemicals in it decayed and basically became unstable. Safe until deployed kind of issue.

Bob just is a master of incompetence.

Again, Bob is a crayon eating curtain gazing retard who even at the age of 40 still believes that nerds should be like the ones on bad 80's cartoons and TV shows he rocked back and forth to as a particularly stupid child with special needs. You know, the ones where they happen to know all the fields because they need to be the smart one for that situation?

Bob still believes that is partially what a nerd is. He also threw a fit and tried to redefine nerd because he got angry his grades were shit, which was part of the definition.

In fairness to Blob, the last 20 years of his Youtube "career" have made him an even bigger expert in the world not watching things.
People DO KNOW Hercules, Blob. They do not know "The Big Picture".

the audience doesn't want a more expensive version of the CW's Arrowverse.
The only good Arrowverse was Flash season 1 ( + 2 if you are VERY generous). The rest is garbo and no one wants that.

I can understand his ignorance if I could chalk it up to never slowly disconnecting with juvenile entertainment as it appears he did not by his obsession with comic, cartoon and videogame characters well into middle-age and to a degree that indicates he isn't just nostalgic about them or a fan of their mediums, but, passionately enthralled with the characters as if they were his actual friends or real-life people, much like a child.

Lots of stuff you could pick up by reading or a hobby, or just paying attention to the world as it goes by? Like how a recall works? He genuinely doesn't know about because that's boring "adult stuff" or "irrelevant" based on his favorite show(s) which is the center of his world. Literally all that matters.

His idea of what a recall is probably was shaped by nothing more than a throwaway line in some cartoon where the Bad Guy threatens his robot sidekick that if the current evil scheme doesn't work? He'll have the robot "recalled" and the bot' pleads "No! Not that!" From a marginally-funny gag, he extrapolated that it must mean that the recalled item goes in the trash compactor and never bothered to look any deeper.....

His perfect medium wouldn't tell HIM a lie! And he's so smaht (tm) he wouldn't be remembering that scene wrong!

And yet, he makes so many errors ABOUT his life's one great obsession (Historical errors, IP rights errors, continuity in canon errors, etc) and presumption that every "normal" and healthy person surely holds the same reverence he has for the bing bing wahoos..... that I wonder how smart he really is. How can you devote your life to something and end up less informed about IT than some laypeople? If you were smart, surely you'd have at least competence in whatever you spent the largest amount of time on? Right?

I can only conclude that he's, just, well....

Stupid,

On top of being in a form of permanently-deferred childhood since he firmly believes he knew everything he had to know by the time he was 12.

He wishes to live in 6th - 10th grades, forever, convinced he's at the top of his competency and social power at that point - while still getting "C" grades and being bullied remorselessly.

Dumb, and too dumb to ever notice it.... the essence of Dunning-Kruger indeed.

Bob seems to have cognitive dissonance on a massive scale. Just once I want some :epik: to reply to Bob ANY time he uses that stupid screencap about the wise man with the alleged nonexistent difference between good things and bad things, with "That was NOT a Wise man" and "Good sir, if there's ZERO difference between good things and bad things, WHY do you hope Bad things happen to Bad People? Also wouldn't that mean there's no such thing as Bad People, if there's no difference between good things and bad things surely there's no difference between good people and bad people? :P

For a change our Intellectual Tripeak aren't talking about capeshit. Luke wants to "stigmatize" a virus that isn't HIV or Herpes, while Public Health expert Robert Chipman asserts the health effect of tobacco has been a "negligible" factor in what got tobacco stagmatized.

Bobby makes the salient observation that there is "low-class smoking" vs "high-class smoking". Will covid infections differentiate along class lines too ("you caught the K563Y mutant in Lizzo's party? C'est tellement chic!) ? 2022 will tell.

Aww, poor Bobby, did people smarter than you make money that you missed out on? Is that why you make fun of it so much? You keep saying it's an environmental disaster if you like. I mean, it uses power, but like 40% of that's renewable and growing, but you keep on banging that drum that crypto's the boogeyman. Forgive me, I guess I hadn't noticed cars run on goose feathers and tap water now. My mistake.

The rest of us know you're nursing a terminal case of butthurt from being a broke ass, stupid motherfucker that missed the train. Crypto ain't going nowhere for a reason no matter how many times you predict the end times, you jealous, trailer trash, Romney-care by default, no job, begging your mother for a room, no kids, no pets having diabetes fatality in-waiting fat child.

Happy New Year, you living carcass. I'm sure all the big studios will reach out this year because they need a middle aged man with no accomplishments on their roster to really turn things around for them. I wish you all the miseries of 2021 with compounding interest for us to spitefully enjoy here in what's going to be an awful 2022 for you. Just keep being you, Bob, it's a winning formula for us.

Are there listening data for Podcasts? I wonder if anyone except Chris and his wife are listening to his podcast at all.

I watched all of Trek. DS9 IS the best show. It's not even a question.
But Roberto proves here again that he is not a movie critic but a miserable childish ball of diebetes ridden fat pretending to be one. Theme parks? Hanging out with Riker on the promenode? What are you talking about?
I will not bore you with huge treatise on why it is the best show, but every person (especially if they have critical mind) who watch it can see it has better character arcs, better character developement, mature and interesting themes explored, matuiration of all the older Star Trek ideas so they can test them in less than clean and more complex close to reality world, most interesting villains etc. etc. I can go on for such an autistic 10000 words rant here but I won't. Roberto a'int worth it.
Point is, again, when confronted with anything resembling complex ideas and thought, all Roberto can do is jump up and down and say "THEME PARKS". And then seriously tell the world that his Capeshit replicating Thor 1 themes is complex.

2022 just started Blob, leave some room for bad "critic" takes for the rest of the year.

"The Big Picture" should be called "The Smallest Mind"

I'd rather listen to my toilet back up than Chris' podcasts. It's not a good sign that Chris shills said podcast the way a starving peasant shills a badly made handicraft to a wealthy tourist.

I refuse to believe that a man as tight up his own ass as Bob Chipman ever smoked weed. I DO believe that he shovels kids cereal down his gullet at the slightest provocation, though.
