My favorite retelling of the Gawain story is Harrison Birtwistle's opera Gawain, in which Gawain's very real ordeal and the self-awareness he gained from it is contrasted with the blithe celebration of heroism and spectacle of Arthur and his court. It is apparent at the end of the opera that Gawain, the most eager participant of heroism at the beginning, will no longer fit in.

On the subject of Moviebobs taste in films, I remember long ago blobby wrote a editorial piece on the Escapist that kind of cemented his midwit status. It was an overview on Ingmar Bergman and his films, in a desperate plea to show that he wasn't just a bottom feeding consumer.
As a bit of a film fan myself, writing anything on Bergman isn't hard, there's endless esseys written about the man and his work you can lift from and saying you like Bergman is like saying ypur a real gamer because you played From Software games. Its the easiest and safest choice for film aficionado cred, choose three films of his and talk about them.
Yet blobby still found ways to sabotage even that. He chose Seventh Seal (shocker!) and fedoratipped about god not being real (which isnt completely what the films about) and referenced how seals version of death inspired Death in Bill and Teds Bogus Journey. His second take was on Persona (another shocker) and he described it as a lesbian eraserhead.
What was Blobbys thrid choice? Fanny and Alexander? Wild Strawberries? Smile on a summers night? Nope. It was the Virgin Springs, citing that it was the great bridge between geek culture and film studies for being the inspiration for Wes Cravens Last House on the Left.

I think Bob's greatest disappointment regarding Fuhrer Hillary's loss to Drumf, is that Hillary was almost 100% guaranteed to start literal fucking war with Russia (over Syria). Because reasons.
