It's pretty retarded that Bob thinks Tolkien's fans should ignore Tolkien's world building because Tolkien's FRIEND wasn't super big on it.

Lewis' Narnia is a fairy tale, its not supposed to be super logical, and treating it like it was intended to be is silly. Tolkien on the other hand wanted to construct his whole world history. The authors had two different intents and both follow through admirably. And if you believe Lewis was all about just going "Fuck it, cool thing" then he should read literally anything else Lewis wrote that wasn't non fiction, because all of it is much more structured.

Also, whenever Bob talks about Daredevil, it is such a wave of unrelenting faggotry that I legit feel speechless reading it.

If you can find a reviewer whose tastes align with yours it can be a good way to filter out the shit you wouldn't care about. For example, if Brad Jones the Cinema Snob did a Midnight Review for an action movie and he liked it, chances are I'd like it too so I would watch it. That's how I found Dredd. But other genres, it was pretty hit or miss.

With Bob, he's always been style over substance, but over the past fifteen years he's gotten worse and worse. Now all he wants are big, flashy movies focused on spectacle instead of story because that's easier for him to understand. So anyone who genuinely thinks he's an intelligent critic who is always on the money is just showing how brain dead they are.
