Bob's been spending a lot of time thinking about those few magical hours that followed after he posted his Pixels review, when he was inexplicably the golden boy of the Internet.

The funny thing about that is that it only happened because he got fired from the escapist. The Escapist has their own media player so other websites would not have linked it because it would just be a link to another website. They post their videos on youtube but only a week or two later which would not have been as current. Because it was just posted on youtube, any website could link it for free and get free clicks on their own site.

Another funny thing about that video getting millions of views is that he probably made shit all money off of it. He doesn't have a youtube partnership which can get you bonus advertising, he didn't shill for audible, lootbox, etc., and it was a pretty short video and youtube pays based on how long a person watches a video.

Only YouTube Red does that. And it's shit all for payout from there, too. I have 4009 minutes of YouTube Red watch time (I'm a super small channel), but 4009 minutes is a whopping 75 cents payout. Obviously, the larger the channel, and the longer people watch, the better it will pay. But, thinking about it as 4000 minutes watch time as $0.75 means you better hope you have a LOT of watch time every month for YouTube Red payouts to even be worth it.

Regular YouTube ad payout is based off of a per 1000 views metric (CPM), with actual clicks on the ads being a higher payout. There is nothing that says they have to even watch more than 1 second of your video... as long as they watched the ad, you get the revenue.

There was a theory put forth by a guy called Anonymous Conservative that because liberals have such a hard time determining what is and is not a real threat to them, they have damaged amygdalas (the part of the brain responsible for that).
