Remember when he attacked the people complaining about Mass Effect's ending and said that the games weren't art because of the heavy use of player choice? There was also that tirade he had against Deus Ex and he proceeded to mock the idea of player's making morally grey choices, failing to understand the whole point of Deus Ex. And then there was him confusing Skyrim and Dark Souls despite them being completely different games (and one being first person no less). And now he's insinuating that The Witcher series isn't good either.

There's some legitimate criticism you can make towards modern triple A RPGs. They're filled with long, boring cutscenes. Characters with no interesting personalities. Rote, by the numbers plots. Superficial crafting and exploration functions marketed as features. Shallow dialogue and morality systems gussied up as deep and impactful by whatever lowest bidder gaming rag sucked EA's dong. Sizable chunks of the game cut out to meet a deadline then released later as DLC with a fucking forty dollar price tag. Vidya RPGs honestly are in a deplorable state right now.

But sonehow I doubt any of that is really a criticism of Bob's. His main reason for disliking RPGs isost likely"it's not Mario".

Did Bob ever say anything about any of the Mario RPGs, given they combine his dear, precious Mario with the genre he considers only one step above those Dang, Dirty FPSes.
